Temperature set for 35°C at 3pm Saturday, I personally think that is too extreme to be playing football, dangerous to the players and uncomfortable for the spectators, wonder if there is a chance this game might be postponed? Will be lots of stoppages if it goes ahead. I will be complaining it's too hot while sat in a stand with a cold drink, let alone running around for 90 minutes. I think we had a similar discussion when our friendly got called off due to the heat and found a professional game had never been called off due to heat in the UK. However, this is very hot - what's the hottesr day in footballing history??

Remember temperatures quoted are those in the shade - so out in the full blaze of the sun - who knows? Most household thermometers would be bursting.

I remember a couple of years ago when Sutton United were giving away free water to Stones fans as it was so hot. Would be a nice touch by the Club tomorrow. I am sure they could get such a gesture sponsored.

In places where it gets really hot sometimes, they often give water away. I can remember a couple of times in Budapest, when it was approaching 40, piles of 500ml bottles of water stacked on the pavement.
And because their season starts in July over there, water breaks are the norm. TV companies love it - two or three extra ad breaks per game!

2-2 draw in front of 2359 fans. Lots of Yorkies moaning about plastic pitches. Lots of Yorkies wondering what that round yellow thing in the sky is and why it's so f**king hot... Oi, less of that, we've even got electricity up here nowadays! I'm going for a 2-1 home win in front of a sweaty 2424 fans. Sweaty fans is that potentially an oxymoron?

I remember you giving me a lift back from Beckenham when it was 35°c a few years back, you dropped me at the Angel centre for a family party and the air conditioning broke down🥵🥵🥵🥵

1-0 to the Stones, early goal, twitchy bum defending for 75 minutes possibly aided by the effects of the weather tiring players. 2150 attendance due to the travel pain caused by rail strikes (having to take a Nat Ex coach from Stratford to Maidstone taking 1 hr 45 mins and that is after having to get the tube from where I am currently staying in walking distance of Victoria station with it's 1 hour journey to East station - there is no longer a coach even from Victoria any more!).
We are not going to lose that unbeaten record against York in all competitive matches.

Otherwise it could be an option (or if this country knew how to run trains properly: Gatwick - Victoria - Maidstone East)

I'm going for a 2 : 0 victory with a crowd of 2345, not too many from York.

I am sure they could get such a gesture sponsored. Only after they ran out of water and it was ages before they re-stocked (I think the police interveened and asked them to get us some).

Russia is a bloody big country not to fly over... For some reason flights are not going over Russia or Ukraine at the moment.
