2 all. or maybe just a narrow 3-2 loss.
Cant see us keeping a clean sheet but can also see us scoring and creating.

That's more like it! I'm not doing the 4-0 prediction for every game this season, but I still think we're going to surprise a few Billy Big Bollocks sides. Although perhaps not for the first month or two... There you are, you negative bastards, you've finally got me doubting the Mighty Stones!!

Def no Joe Ellul. Calf injury means he's not even training, let alone playing matches. Sadly JBW is unfit too and unlikely to play. Just for good measure Raphe Brown is carrying some mystery injury, so no oven ready subs at full back/centre back. Luv to be proven wrong but going for a 1-3 defeat.

Throw in the fact that our 2 prolific goal scorers are out of contention and it doesnt look great at the other end either.

So to sum up we have important players missing from the defence and missing from the attack. We've also been seen to go off the boil in our pre-season friendlies. Everything points to Altrincham catching our team on good day for the Northerners to play us. Given our problems I am having to go for a close fought match ending in a 2-1 Stones win.

Hak sets the right tone, but the injuries to key players sound worrying. Great chance for bench warmers and fringe players to step up though. However, the omens aren't great - the longest away trip for several years for a league game, a bit of a scratch side, plus not exactly a 'name' team either. Hopefully we surprise a few people. Hopefully, we don't get stuffed. Either way, it is only one game, so CoYS!

Blimey, first match of the season proper and at least half the first choice side out injured or unfit.

Founder members of the National League (along with us) They won the league first 2 seasons and are currently the record holders for giant killing FA cup wins against league teams! They may not be a fancied side this year but they are IMO one of the grand old teams of non league

And they've spent most of that time achieving very little. I don't know much about the present-day Altrincham, but their past glories count for nothing. It's the same as for any other club - if they've got money behind them this time, they'll do OK If they haven't, they'll fare just as well as any other non-league team.

Alty have never been higher than the NL/Conference.
