What is the point in spending more money this season 🤷🏼♂️ it’s gone save it for next season. GNW has got a managers job I think so fair play to him.

Transfer listed so not let go as such.
Dover say they are waiting for offers.

Peavey did little for us last season, in a far easier league. Why would we want him now? We have 30+ players on the books. Half are either injured or simply not good enough to even warm the bench. Note, this is a generalisation only. Of the other half, 50% or more of these would still struggle to make the squad at any other NL club, while the remainder are also struggling because they don't have enough talent around them to prosper at this level. Booty is still a good player and his work rate is admirable, but he can't be sweeper, holding midfielder and creative midfield all at once. Galvin is a good player, but would be better at left back, with B-W in the Luque position (just my opinion). Barham runs his heart out every game, but has nobody to support him. Fowler is doing ok filling in for an in form Hoyte, but sadly neither look the part in this league. Centre backs? Much as I like Joe Ellul, he needs quality alongside and we don't seem to have that - despite numerous attempts. Midfield - Lawson works hard, but needs the Sam Corne from last season beside him to prosper and the latter hasn't looked the part since his injury. Bottom line is we have half a dozen players, at best, who could cope in this league, but only if they had better players around us. No manager, however good, will keep us up with our current resources.

It is plain as day we need five or six proven NL players to compete at this level.

Was definitely a player in there towards the end of his stint with us. Think he'll do well at NS level. He's gone straight into their starting 11, and Reece Grant starts for Chelmsford.

[/quote] This squad of players are good enough for this league, it just happens that all our opponants are better ( better tactics, better player selection & recuitment, better wages???), but we at maidstone have the best pies

Bit late on this - but it has to be said that Jay managed exactly this for two seasons - with probably fewer resources than Hak had, and certainly with less support from the club. He was also considerably less experienced than Hak. A good manager knows how to build the best team he can with the resources he's got - and how to adjust/re-build that team as required. The key to any football club's success isn't the players, it's the manager - he brings in and nutures the players.

The key to Jay's successful year (spread over two seasons) was bringing in Lewis, Prestige and Pigott, plus a couple of others. That hasn't happened this season and fairly obvious that had we been able to attract something similar, we wouldn't be in the state we are now because our better players from last season would have been able to prosper more.

Pigott was massive coup. Still not really sure how we had him for as long as we did.
