I can never understand why some people reverse their car into supermarket parking spaces. Shopping goes in the boot and this becomes very difficult to access if you park that way. However, if such carparks were designed so everyone could reverse into a space that had a pavement walkway between two lines of cars, then we could all access and load out vehicles more safely. Whether folk could be arsed to put their trolley away afterwards is another matter of course. It's a hell of a lot easier to reverse in. And easier to ensure it's clear coming out forwards. Unless the spaces are angled you really need rear wheel steering to comfortably drive forwards into a parking bay.

This forum has six sub forums, four of which haven’t had posts for years.
Deleting those would revive the remaining two.

The police to do something about the amount of cars driving down pedestrian only areas of the high street Not strictly pedestrian only though. Taxies including private hire, buses and deliveries allowed.

Now the nights are drawing in, the number of cars with just one headlight working is very noticeable once more. Given there must be a higher chance many of them are not taxed, insured or have an MOT, you'd think this would be real opportunity for the police to get them off the road.

Not to mention the fact that a car with one headlight on an unlit road looks like a bike to oncoming traffic who may then think they have more room than they do.

See they've come down now, but why close the QE2 bridge because of two protestors lounging in hammocks strung from the cables? I sympathise with their cause, but not with their methods, there must be better ways of protesting. Just leave them up there until cold, hunger and sitting in their own excrement brings them down.

A rifle and 2 bullets would have been quicker

Just won a small bet with myself - though guess the thought must have crossed many (most) people's minds, me included, but especially those stuck in traffic. And, apparently somebody tried a couple of fireworks!

They should have kept the traffic running and let the morons take their chances when they decided to come down. However just your cause, it doesn't give you the right to prevent people going about their lawful business.

And why wasn't the Home Secretary on the spot immediately telling the police to re-open the bridge ASAP?

Because she was busy writing her resignation letter. Still, for the next few days at least, the mantle falls to Grant Schapps and we know how well he did as Transport Minister
