Not good at the moment, especially as far as test match batting is concerned. We have some decent bowlers, but don't seem able to pick the right combination for any match played, especially overseas. Apart from Root, Malan and Stokes, we can't bat for toffee though you have to feel for players dropped into alien environments with zero warm up matches and zero games between each Test to try and get a bit of form. We also leave out the best keeper, Foakes, in the belief that one day batters like Buttler or Bairstow will get runs.
You also have to wonder at the planning, although we are told they've been working on it for the last two years. Another 5-0 Ashes drubbing on the cards by the look of it.
