Doubt much will come of this - Dover are a complete mess and haven't won a league game since the 26th of January. Doesn't reek of a loan move that's going to bring a huge amount of confidence to an already out of form striker looking to find form.
To be honest though, he scores 3 in that month period, why not. I doubt he will but I'm here to be proven wrong. Good luck Alfie!

Yeah. He will get game time there as they are threadbare. Not often does a player go out on loan only to return and be part of the plans going forward. In my opinion, this is the club saying Alfie isn't in our plans and isn't really up to it. Even more so if we see a new face come in Beggars can’t be choosers. He will get game time, that’s the important thing

Can't see him getting anywhere, especially against the type of defenders who proliferate in the NLP, where most seem to be six foot several and built like brick outside toilets. I wish him well, but is this really the sort of environment to send an injury prone, out of sorts striker?

Shame Alfie couldn't get a proper run of matches with Stones. It is not as if the alternatives look any better or have done any better.

Being no worse than other equally poor choices isn't a reason to give him a run. If we were getting goals from elsewhere in the team you could probably afford to give him a run, but before Tuesday we'd scored 3 goals in 8 games, hardly the environment to bed in a misfiring striker.

I wouldn't be surprised if Alfie hasn't been sacrificed to bring in George Fowler. He was probably one of the highest earning forwards. Harsh but that's football.

I would get rid of pavey, for me hasn't done it for us, look for a decent loan for the rest of the season, or look below for someone up and coming, if it don't work out either way, not much to lose at this stage if the season, got to be someone out there worth punting on

There is or was someone worth a punt who is now banging them in for Folkestone. Ade Yussuf whom I told the club about around 2 years ago but they ignored me, but hey what do I know.

I tend to agree with daveu, none of our strikers are worthy of the name. Some sympathy though for Christie, who does show some class but is clearly being asked to do a job for which he is not qualified. Problem for Hak is that he's probably the best choice despite not being good enough.

Clearly not the right time to try a proven goal scorer. When the current strikers were misfiring too!

We have a couple of good strikers already, Pavey Barham and Grant are all returning from various injuries and infections so do not have 90mins in them. Other than Luque and Corne, everyone else is terrefied to take a pop at goal and would rather pass.

Sadly Stewart I have to disagree. What do you base your assessment on about the named players being good strikers ? I do accept the point about none of them being match fit but that is not exactly a quality in their favout. Their combined goal scoring record over the past 3 seasons can be barely registered and looking at them today I am not seeing any potential or even a reflection of past scoring glories. Hak's overall recruitment has been impressive in lots of ways, it's just a shame that it didnt extend to capturing a couple of quality strikers. Still think one or two new signings are needed to complete the squad.

As December approaches, lack of match fitness can no longer be used to excuse our mis-firing strikers. They just don't look good enough. It's not their fault. Nobody is saying they don't try, but we need more power and ability from players leading the line. Over to you Hak.

Neither Barham and Grant look the real deal at this level. Christie Pattison looks the best of the 3, but in truth he's a winger who is being forced to play out of position and it shows ! With Jake Gallager, Big George and Joe Ellul all set to return over the next 2-4 weeks, we have strength in depth in most areas of the team. Shame about our lack of quality strikers.
