Appropo nothing in particular, Saidu Kahn is now on for Chesterfield at Halifax in the FA Cup on ITV 4. That's funny cos Chesterfield are playing at Salford unless auntie been has it wrong. Oops! Not sure how that happened as hard to even blame the spell checker on this one. Didn't do anything special, though what the game did do was remind what a bunch of Neanderthals so many NPL and L2 sides are made up of. If we were to get promotion, not sure how many of the current team would prosper.

Interesting, because as I read it, Pavey didn't fit in with our style of play. Fine, because Jack Barham clearly does, but then why did we sign the new bloke? Perhaps strikers are like golf clubs and you need to keep your options open?

I saw that article and wondered what online abuse? Not doubting Hakan who is a genuine guy, but the worst on here tends to be a few moaning old farts. Unless he has been receiving abuse on another social media platform? Brian Clough had a tactic for dealing with newspaper abuse: don’t read them.

Bettamer may not be exactly what we need week in week out, but at least he uses his strength and is an aerial presence. Good player for the 80th minute when it's 1-1.

I think it sounds more like abuse on social but he hasn't used his Twitter since to 2015 so God knows haha

So much easier said than done. I've been trawling the goal scoring records of players at clubs a level down and nobody much stands out. In truth if they did they would already have been grabbed. Dig a little deeper and you tend to find strikers often find a level, but you can never tell how they do when they go up a league. Some players will make the grade but most won't The idea that we can recruit from the National League has a drawback too. Nobody but nobody will release a player who is scoring goals regularly so the only hope is that we recruit a striker who isn't actually scoring goals, but hope that he will do better at a level below. So the task ahead for Hak is near impossible in truth, unless he strikes lucky. If he does unearth a gem it will probably take both good fortune and nous. We can only wish him the very best of luck as the search goes on (unless one of our existing strikers develops some form that so far has been well hidden). I think Muhammadu Faal is the obvious choice for a club at our level - top scorer in the Ryman, 18 goals in league and cup, 6ft 4 and still young. Also shown enough to be picked up (albeit to eventually be released) by Bolton Wanderers in the past year or so. I think our system works better for a player like him over a Barham or Grant as things stand. If I was Hak, that's who I'd be going after but as has been mentioned, there will be a lot of clubs sniffing around even half decent strikers at this point of the season. Would be amazed if Faal doesn't get a move somewhere in the next few months tbh. Faal and Enfield just confirmed Faal is leaving to test himself 'at the next step up'. 69 goals in 81 appearances, it will be interesting to see where he goes and what that 'next step up' is going to be...

Might be worth a punt. Scored some good goals looking at his highlights.

Was just about to share this - will be really interesting to see how he does at National South level.
