See you next Tuesday, Mr U🤣. Hopefully, see you as well, Mr Sword. Though I dont like giving in to the pain I am going to on this occasion. If it had been a league game I would probably still have to think twice.

Decent workout. Can't tell much from a pre-season against lower league oppo, but was a very entertaining game and probably should've scored more than 6. Decent performances all around the team with standouts from Luque, Pattison, and Sam Corne. Disappointed with Ibby but maybe he's still some way behind the rest. Scored a good goal but otherwise looked way off the pace.

Not sure I agree about Ibby. He could have had at least 3 goals and was always in the right place to make a chance. A bit rusty perhaps but he broke his duck and that will do his confidence good. I was concerned about Alfie. He had only played the first half and was knackered when they did the warm down. George looked the fittest and was last and George had to come over to him and tell him to stand up and breathe. Early days and George no doubt kept himself fit over the break. We still have not seen Hadler, Browne or Walters. Luque looked good and a cracking goal from Deacon.

Very promising with plenty of very decent performances, with some tasty goals, but what has Alfie been doing over the Summer ?
I reckon Swordy could afford to give him a 20 metre start over the length of the pitch.
George is fit but knows the game so well he doesnt need to waste his energy.

Tonight confirmed it. Is he just struggling for fitness? I agree that Luque looked good although those around me didn't listen when I said this at the start of the second half. Being the height of diplomacy i said nothing as he put in two lovely goals and played some great passes. Pattison looks good although seems to lack a little in front of goal. I think Barham looks a real menace and he made and created his goal well.

Enjoyable game, although in the first half that was mainly because it was so good just to be back at JWW! The first half was a mad kick and run session, with Sheppey rarely able to get out of their half, but the second half was much better, with some very decent footrball from Maidstone.
At half time, my feelings were "Sutton are going to murder us", but by the end I felt we'd be able to give them a decent game. Usual caveat applies though, as this was only our second PSF, so really means nothing at all - especially with the number of trialists used. But Luque looked good and it was great to see Corne and Hoyte (one of two 2s!) - both put in a solid shift, and I also liked the look of the No 7 (trialist), and another trialist (no 6) from the first half. Deacon and Barham looked good too - if this game was anything to go by, Deacon is going to have a massive impact on our season. And last, if not least - Ibby Akanbi. What can you say? He scored a cracking goal, but mostly I was simply nonplussed as to how someone that overweight could possibly move so fast! Still, at least we now know the answer to that eternal question - who ate all the pies?!
Nearly forgot the keeper - shouts a lot and has a decent kick, and gets the ball back out quickly (note to Mancrush), but I can't say much more because, apart from one stop, he pretty much had nothing to do.
Roll on Saturday and Sutton - that's going to be a far more 'interesting' game...
