"The total amount staked was £3,916.78, with returns of £3,530.35 - meaning Curran made a loss of £386.43." Incredible. Just shows you how difficult it is. I am struggling this year,so far, and I put it down to games are far more competitive these days, sides 2-0 down used to accept defeat now they fight to the bitter end. Teams no longer go away from home with ultra negative plans for a draw, well some do. A loss of £386.43 is pretty much par for the course that is why bookies make £millions of profit each year.

Mug's game. Ever met a poor bookie? You are not wrong jdl though I have done OK,though not recently. I once knew a bookie who took on an outside bet that he could not cover and when it came in he blew his brains out leaving his widow to sell the house to pay it off, or she would have done if the punter had not ripped the slip up to save her and the kids. The win by the way was for £80,000.
