Delta variant will destroy the season.

Nope the fear of variants will kill it.

I quite fancy the match at Chatham on Tuesday 26th July at 7.45pm. Look for a big crowd and a decent atmosphere. A friendly club with ambition and a nicely developing stadium. Well worth driving over the hill imo.

Well worth driving over the hill imo. That's one I have my eye on too - possibility of lots of ex-Stones in their line up too. They had their own beer on tap last time I went too, which is always a bonus. 99% sure it was just Carlsberg with a different label, but the sentiment is always nice with that kind of thing...

Lager or after-shave, I fancy the pre season match at Chatham. Been over there a few times, apart from lack of decent toilets (which is a big apart), they have a nice set up, an improving team and fan base and most importantly, sell drinkable ale.

And with the newly announced step 5 playoffs being introduced they now have a much better chance of promotion.

On current form (ie before the roof caved in), I'd expect Chatham to beat us. Their last match (which I missed out on attending by three fans, as they'd reached their Covid capacity of 300) was against another Medway team (I can't remember who) which had the best defensive record in their division. Chatham still won 6 - 0. Still, Hak can probably learn more from a defeat than a win!

Sorry headstone, but Chatham is my 2nd team and I see plenty of them. They have a lot going for them as a club and as a team but there is still a bit of a gulf at present between them and the Stones. Form doesn't come into it

Well, I hope you're right, Rob! Chatham are a team who if you sit back and let them play can create chances at will, at their level and probably a level up as well. They are however very suspect at the back and teams who attack them will find lots of space to attack. Their games are entertaining though.

Let’s see if the FA allow 2500 UEFA VIPs and hangers on to fly in for the Euro 2020 Final at Wembley, but ban 200 Maidstone fans from watching a pre-season friendly versus Sheppey United.

Just realised the Bearsted fixture is coming up quite quickly now - anyone have any idea what the deal is with that? Surely it's got to be ticketed right? If the training on Saturday requires a ticket for capacity reasons, surely the first game back in well over a year has to be?
