Yesterday morning while cycling along the towpath, I saw a grey seal swimming towards Allington Lock. Not that strange you might say, and had it been downstream of the lock I might have agreed with you. But how did it get to the Maidstone side of the lock, especially considering the lock itself has been closed for months for refurbishment. Anyway, just thought some of you might be interested. Someone has subsequently sent a video to Kent Online.
