Sunak is so concerned that a democratically elected politician is a threat to democracy it has prompted him to make a statement outside Downing Street complaining about the sowing of division, race hatred and extremism.
I must admit I got confused and thought he was outlining Tory policy.

You mean they’ve actually got something right 😧 Yes. Many years after schools addressed it (about the same speed as your reply). Hopefully they will start addressing the 2008 financial crash soon

I take if you’ve had a positive experience in that regard but I still know parents who complain about it.

Do you feel non-statutory guidance on an issue that has existing and evolving policies for the best part of two decades is going to make a real difference?

Do you feel non-statutory guidance on an issue that has existing and evolving policies for the best part of two decades is going to make a real difference? It may empower schools (or at least head teachers) to believe they can do something about it. With the litigious nature of our society, without some government guidance, some schools may have feared parent opposition. Now hopefully they can ban phones without fear of litigation.

France banned mobile phones in schools years ago. And we know everything done in an EU country is 100% correct.
Our school used to organise every lesson and homework via Google Classroom. Even they are moving away from that and banning their use.
France and the USA also generally do not use school uniforms. Nothing more barbaric than seeing 6th form boys forced to wear suits.

You haven't realised that the majority of schools have mobile phone policies that ban or partially ban them already, without this fantastic government backing? I haven't been in a school in the last two decades that is running frightened of litigation, yet this mass of litigation you think is going to occur hasn't. Do you think you may be clutching at straws to fulfil an adversarial role? I don't mind but it is a little painful to watch.
