The young feel they are bullet proof and they have made the choice that on the balance of risks getting a vaccine will not benefit them.
You cannot force young people to take vaccinations.
It requires persuasion and bribery. ( Incentivisation)

Just looked on the latest stats. Our vaccination programme has fallen off a cliff. Six EU states have now vaccinated a greater percentage of their population than the UK. What are we playing at? We were streets ahead of some of them Can't blame the government if young people are reluctant to get the jab. It's not like there hasn't been loads of publicity, and plenty of opportunity for them to do so. They took the credit when old people fell over themselves to get jabbed. They can take the blame if young people don't take it

Almost as grim and certainly no less surprising is the news that Cameron trousered seven million quid for doing not very much for Greensill, other than ensuring the tax payer will no doubt eventually foot the bill. Not short of money in the first place and am sure the current cabinet are all making plans too.

On a similar point, if Lionel Messi is so upset about leaving Barcelona, why doesn't he stay and play for free? I can't think his bank balance is desperate for another few million quid to keep him in Haribos.

I can't think his bank balance is desperate for another few million quid to keep him in Haribos. I thought this initially too, but the Guardian Football podcast covered this well last night: you legally have to take a wage in La Liga, which is "only" something like £140k a year for a senior player but even then with Messi, their highest paid player by a country mile, gone they'd still be hugely in the deficit for wages (wages would still take up their outgoings by as much as 90% even with him gone). They need to slim their wage bill by an insane amount to appease FFP, and they're still a long way off. La Liga enforce FFP differently to other leagues and it has now turned round and bitten them in the arse because their biggest pull is leaving the league. Anyway, blah blah blah - let's hope PSG come up against Barca in the CL knockout stages and Messi has to slot in the final penalty in to knock his beloved Barca out. Delicious.

What is the Government's view on the Messi issue, and is Cameron involved?

I thought this worth repeating if only to wind up NWS. In a discussion as to whether the EU is a superpower.
“The EU is a regulatory superpower” she declared, as if that was something to be proud of.
As they say, America innovates, China duplicates, Europe regulates.

As they say, America innovates, China duplicates, Europe regulates. It might be annoying if you'd actually mentioned who said it. If it is your left hand talking to your right hand again then it doesn't really worry me. Just to point out that the EU is more about regulation than the government's you name is because it is not a sovereign state. It is sovereign states under a collective and harmonious umbrella. Any reason your are reigniting brexit with a silly quote or do you enjoy looking foolish?
