Have already got this, is every bit as good as you might think - superb ! Author Mike Floate used to ( amongst other things ) run Crockenhill FC, a thoroughly decent chap and well worthy of support.

Wow! Talk about memory lane... Definitely one for Christmas.
They weren't very practical, but I still love those old main stands that most grounds seemed to have back in the day. Proper football!
Mind you, much as I hated losing London Road, there's no way I'd swap it for JWW now. But I wonder if Fleet fans feel the same way - the old stand at Stonebridge road, for all its sight-line problems, looked so much better than the weird thing they've got now. Sad to see Darts old ground being demolished too - another 'proper' football ground. Those old grounds looked like they might one day 'grow' into something more, whereas many modern grounds (Darts' is a good example) look like they've just accepted that they're staying non-league for ever. Gill's ground back in the day is a good example of what I mean - bit of a shit-hole, and that awful away terrace (!), but it looked like a ground that had started small and could become so much bigger. Although now it is bigger it just looks like a collection of sheds built round a rectangle of grass... Thank God (and Terry and Oliver) for JWW.
I know they were falling apart and often death traps, but with those old grounds it felt like you were going to football, a lot of grounds these days feel like you're going to a see a band or something (MK Dons, Barnet...) No real atmosphere, no history.
Not going to be a popular book with Dover fans, though, with the picture caption "The Crabble"!
