As thought provoking as ever.
Just a tiny dig about the lack of local talent in the line-up.
Or more accurately perhaps, just a reminder that we were promised more local lads in the team.
Seemed important to some a few months ago, now it seems nobody cares less.
Individual talent, strength of character and good performances being more important than postcode.
Shocking.

I think if we had gone PT we would have seen more local players but with current set up and players effectively fulltime they can afford to commute etc. My test is around effort and attitude and Hak seems to have found a great bunch of players.

More an observation than a dig. The higher up we go, the smaller the "local" talent pool gets. In 2012 we were in Isthmian South and there were quite a few players from or based in or around Maidstone like JS2, Steve Ward, Watt, Booth, Brown, Flisher, Lye, Welford ... Mills from Sheppey. The Olorundas were from Hastings. I don't know how many Maidstone-based-players are operating at this level now. Dean Rance maybe?

I think Jack Midson lives in or near Maidstone? Was mentioned in the commentary of the Sheppey - Welling game on YouTube.

Connor Essam, Mitchell Dickenson and Michael West all live in the Maidstone area and play at this level for Dartford, Eastbourne Borough and Ebbsfleet.

Throw in Doug Loft and we'd have a decent six-a-side team.

At least one of our squad lives in Maidstone, as he moved here when we took him on (on a two year contract...).

At least one of our squad lives in Maidstone, as he moved here when we took him on (on a two year contract...). Indeed, and that was a triumph of hope over experience. Whatever happened to him, I wonder?
