Are you reading my posts again?! For the sake of the masses I do an occasional quality control. It's a slippery slope. I used to take the occasional peak at nwhb's posts in the early days, but before you know it you're replying to them! And, anyway, the Vase win was 28 years ago! I doubt if many of the Wimblebourne players were even born then - the goalie's mum and dad were still at school!

DaveU, as ex-referee and Leeds United keeper, will be able to tell us why their keeper (who looks about 14) didn't get sent off on 62 mins. I've forgotten whether a proposed rule saying you can't concede a penalty for a professional foul AND get sent off was talked about or actually passed? The ball was rolling slowly enough that it was a goal-scoring opportunity, no doubt about it. Still, a cracking cup-tie. I suppose. Wasn’t it DaveH who was Leeds keeper in the black and white days and not daveu 🤭

Why is it when we get beat that you have to lower the opponents achievement by ridiculing their name or purposely spelling their name incorrectly. Wimborne Town. Not wimblebourne or WTF club.

Possibly because it was a joke? Chris on SL kept calling them Wimbledon. And Their initials being WTFC is funny. I'm sorry, but it is. And in an earlier post I "lowered the opponents" by congratulating them and wishing them well in the next round. But let's ignore that.

There were the new interpretations brought in at the start of the season where we had zavon Hines. The "double jeopardy" where the one incident was seeing you punished twice. The one where the player stops in his run up (remember Zavon getting booked for doing this at a home game??). If i had the email to hand I'd copy it in but it's buried away somewhere. I think under the changed rules unless the goalkeeper causes serious harm or intended to cause serious harm then it's usually just a penalty and a yellow card for the keeper. Oh and the keeper was 17, had a great game and Wimborne will be lucky to keep him as he has potential, he also had a cracker in their previous fa cup game including saving penalties in a penalty shootout.

Yep I can see the keeper ending up at Weymouth soon as it is just down the road, possibly higher,I just hope Bournemouth dont get him and leave him on the bench for 400 games

Only move on from Wimborne if you are going to be playing consistent first team football and there is better individual goalkeeper training to help enhance your career.

Oh dear! Cruddy cup anyway! 🙄 Where did the Dover dislike come from? We've got on with them well in past years. From the appalling way they treat us as away fans in the last few visits. Just like Bromley and both are grounds I will never return to TBF I thought that on the last couple of visits. It used to be a nice day out. I don't look at it now and mark it down as one to go to.

Probably because he is a little tedious. I get used to the constant carping on about me. The pretence, by him, is that he doesn't read anything I write or get narked by any replies. He thinks people are fooled if he constantly replies by proxy. What a funny fellow.

Good luck to Wimbourne this afternoon. Presumably Boreham Wood not playing for the prize money any more, given they've already hit the jackpot...
