So I know nothing about what's going on, that's clear, but my guess would be that we've offered terms to some of these trialists ( otherwise why keep playing them ? ) with a deadline to say yes or no. The trialists + agents are threshing around trying to find an alternative club / contract which offers more pay, a more progressive club, better coaching, grass not 3G etc. Only when there are no other offers on view will they sign. In the meantime, what could Hak say ? ' I've offered to these guys, we're waiting, anybody want to buy a chip shop ' . So wait and see.... But is that an informed guess ? If you are right you are painting such a depressing picture that swordy would probably like to hang it in his living room. My take on it is simple the club maybe waiting for confirmation that the season will start with fans before signing g any more players, if we start without fans then we cannot afford any more players and the u-23's will be utilised. As soon as it is confirmed we have paying spectators allowed then more signings will take place. A definite decision needs to be made now so clubs can get on with things.

Well porky never claimed his was an informed guess and I suspect neither is swordys. Imo much more likely is that Hak is just taking his time so he can be sure. Too simple ?

I only know what I would be doing if I was the owners ,I wouldn't be spending money until I find out if BoJo is gonna flush it down out toilet or not. Of course you may be right in your own assumptions only time will tell.

Well that makes for 3 different takes on why Hak is delaying signing any more players. Time will tell if they are all wrong.

George Porter has impressed in last three friendlies so hopefully we sign him up. We need his experience and talent

Bad boy reputation for good reasons. But George has talent and needs to re-invent himself as a footballer. Maybe a risky signing in terms of character but Hak is in the best position to judge. At least he would be our 'bad boy'.

So many opportunities to score, but not our best night in front of goal. Faffing about at the back almost cost us though and another sending off. Quite what that was about hard to see.

Fair point but surely George adds quality rather than bite. He is hardly a Stu Lewis type of player

With the potential threat of more lockdown and disruption I would build an OK team (decent spine) and look to get through. IMO we don't need to wait and see if Alex will, as swordy says, flush the dosh down the drain. Just assume it is very likely.
