The excellent Ollie Bayliss has tweeted a copy of a letter from DCMS confirming elite sports hope to open for business from 1 October: ' Ollie Bayliss @ollie_Bayliss · 9h Significant news for the return of fans! Despite last week's announcement, the DCMS hope to reopen elite sport fixtures from 1 October. This letter was sent to Tracey Crouch MP today by Nigel Huddleston, the Minister for Sport, Tourism and Heritage. ' If I was really IT Savvy, I'd copy / paste the letter on to here, but as it is please drill into Ollie's twitter time line to find it if you want ( sorry folks ).

I don't go anywhere near Twitter, it is the work of the Devil! In fact I've even given up Face Book these days. Although I am not yet dead to the internet - I have far too many bloody YouTube registrations for a start! But Three Counties Radio? What the hell is that?? (Rhetorical - I have no desire to Google it at all!) I am retired, I shouldn't have to cope with all this information...

Twitter is only good for three things weratedogs, thethoughtsofadog and god. Facebook has nothing good about it and is full of conspiracy nuts or fuckwits sharing fake news stories that they believe are real. Ollie might not work for the fa but he certainly should get paid by them he has a way if deciphering a lot of the nonsense they put out and allows fans to find out what is going on.

But Three Counties Radio? What the hell is that?? (Rhetorical - I have no desire to Google it at all!) Three Counties Radio is the BBC local radio station for Bucks, Herts & Bedfordshire - hence 3 counties. Quite why Ollie is attached to that I don't know ( other than they presumably pay him a salary ..... ).

I would respectfully suggest @signsfun , @disc_light , @thesweeney9 and of course @number10cat are well worth following on twitter. Seriously, like all of these things, just ignore the clutter & shite, twitter can bring so much information and fun to you !

So are season ticket holders are counted as part of the 1255 even if they don't turn up? Yep, in practice they could turn up at any time during the game so there space has to be reserved. Now if there is demand - and a willingness for the club to organise - perhaps non-attending ST holders would offer the club the opportunity to re-sell their space/seat. Worth pointing out also that at Leeds it has already been announced that plans are afoot for ST holders to get maybe three or four games each in total this season and if you're not available for the ones you get let in for it's tough. No transfers or swaps allowed. For clarity, Leeds had almost 23k season ticket holders last season and there have been no sales to new applicants this season hence the rationing.

You'd think it wouldn't be too difficult for ST holders to email the club if they weren't attending a particular match. If done by the day before, the club could then make that space available and hence get a bit more money.

I've been to Leeds, and this does not compute... But seriously - this must be a common problem with the better supported clubs. I knew a Newcastle fan many years ago, before the improvements at St James' Park, who had several STs, which he renewed each year, despite the fact that he lived in Kent and couldn't get to most home games. At that time, Newcastle had so many more fans wanting to watch games than could get in, that there was a waiting list for STs that took you years to get to the top of. There was a thriving black market in STs, with tickets changing hands for many times their face value - there were a lot of ST holders at Newcastle with differnt names on their tickets to their own!
