That's a shame. Two important players for the team imo. Both players, particularly Sam had longish periods out of the team last season, thanks to injuries. So they start this season injured again, not having played football since March ! Doesn't have a good feel.

Correction I should have said 14 not 10 Number 14 was Max Watters, was on loan with us shortly before the season was halted. Number 8 looked good, someone did tell me his name but I can't exactly remember it. Young lad, used to play at sittingbourne (i think) comfortable anywhere across the back line. Looked good yesterday.

Doncaster fc manager's notes on Max Watters earlier in the year (under 23 player with a few appearances in the first team)
He’s a powerful man, he can play in a variety of positions in that front line. He boasts tremendous speed.
“He’s got an eye for goal and gets in the right places.
“We feel Max has all the right pedigree but probably needs to believe in himself a little bit more.
“He’s got wonderful attributes and hopefully going out on loan will enhance those attributes.
“When he’s playing on that front line of men’s football he’ll start getting into more positions and more belief that he’s got potentially a wonderful future in the game.
“That potential needs to be nurtured and brought out of him".

Number 14 was Max Watters, was on loan with us shortly before the season was halted. So Watters played 4 complete league games for us in Feb / March 2020. I have to say made a limited impression on me, although reading reports from Eastbourne Away he was impressive there [ I missed that game, already personally shutting down due to covid ]. Difficult to assess how good he could be, because our season was royally going up itself when he was with us. Quite how / if playing for us would improve his self esteem & justify his potential is difficult to fathom.

Highlights show a well constructed goal and should have had a couple more. Defence seemed fairly untroubled, though evidence that we still want to play silly buggers at corners. Seem to be making progress though.

This corner business with bringing all the team back into the penalty box to defend them is frustrating.

I disagree, i think a couple of Eastbourne players impressed and so did the young lad who came on for us that was on loan Charlie seaman.

Any pictures of Daryl from the game ? Just picture what he looked like after the playoff final defeat. Business as usual for Daryl losing to the Stones
