Difficult to keep up with last years competitions concluding very nearly overlapping with this years starting, but heartbreak for Corinthian yesterday, going out on pens to Hebburn. 300 at Gay Down Farm for this game, I imagine Gay Dawn Farm was rocking, despite COVID. scefl.com/corinthian-fa-vase-hebburnHebburn ? Mr Sword might have some personal memories there .......

Back in the 80's I saw Latin Quarter here just as they were getting well known. Their opponents Consett provide me with bad memories, I went to watch Whitley Bay at Consett and visiting all the local hostelries as you do,arrived at the ground to hear the final whistle as the kick off had been brought forward to 12.30 so people could get home to watch Newcastle v Sunderland. A second visit was planned but on the Thursday before the game I broke my ankle, happy days😁

A second visit was planned but on the Thursday before the game I broke my ankle, happy days😁 A Hebburn supporter streamed the game on Facebook from his phone & did a cracking job with some typical northern humour! .Had around 400 watching much of he time but by the time it got to penalties on there were as many as 1500 viewers! Saw from 70 minutes onwards and they deserved their win, especially after going down to 10 men. 2 Hebburn subs were booked for running on pitch after they took the lead in extra time- another one of those "use a bit of common sense" moments given the nature of the occasion, but of course the FA don't do common sense on that sort of thing.
