So we have me, Soulstone, Sword, JDL and Steve plus one. I wonder if Steve will socially distance from me, Sword and JDL. Will Sword bring his flatmates? Will Dave U stop arguing about Jewish Popes and buy a five poon ticket? EDIT: Tim is away cottaging or something to that effect I have always socially distanced from you Adrian :-) :-)... (joke) No worries. I try to socially distance from myself at the best of times

Can't commit in advance because I'm hoping to be unfurloughed on Tuesday and that being the case I won't finish work early enough. Not having worked since 10th April I'm not gonna take time off on my first day back. Falling in line with your hero, Alex? Come on Davy book holiday and visit our kentish riviera town. Dave missing a stones game. Next they'll be telling me the Pope ain't Jewish🤣🤣

Er... No David. I went to Sittingbourne quite regularly from Stansfeld (first game at Sittingbourne although they were officially the home team) to Bognor Regis (last game). I commentated on the last one. I might also point out that from 2003 to 2012 I lived in Carlisle and Rugby. So feel free to compare six hour or two hour car journeys with Maidstone to Herne Bay. You misunderstood, probably on purpose.I didn't say you didn't go to Sittingbourne, I said you criticised those who wouldn't, even though they regular attended away games. Surely not?!

Really happy that I didn't miss this match. It was great to see the young emerging talent coming through, alongside our more seasoned professionals. Early days of course but a very promising performance from the boys.

Last night was always going to be a difficult game against a side who had been playing friendly matches for a fair few weeks and so it proved. I thought they started very well but we got back in the game and we were the better side until the sending off. 2nd half we were the better side and there were plenty of pluses to take from the game.

Like regularly being beaten for pace with balls either over the top or through the gaps, or the inability to cross effectively or looking lightweight in attack?
Work to be done.

Amazing that against a markedly lower league team, we get beaten in performance and result and yet some people talk about the positives.

This was not about a friendly between 2 clubs of equal ranking. A 0-4 away win would not have proven anything for the season ahead. But a 2-1 away defeat to the Bay is not exactly encouraging.

I am positive their first goal was a about 4 yards offside but the linesman was still getting out of his car he was that far behind play. The new keeper made a great save 2nd half and looked confident with good distribution. Kraniqi looked good until he decided to try an remove the legs of the Herne Bay player without the use of anaesthetic. We had one effort cleared off the line and could quite easily have won this game, the only negative is that we didnt. For a first outing it was nothing more than useful .

Swordy's opinions of all things amber and black are so rose tinted

Swordy says it was useful. With a bit of luck and more clinical finishing we may even have scraped a draw. How useful would that have been against the mighty HB ?

Useful ? Well its just the beginning of the beginning so hardly matters But on a positive note and looking forward, we can only get better. Shame about Krasniqi having an early bath though, looks useful.
