I went to see Gillingham play Accrington Stanley with a Lancastrian friend a couple of years ago; it was raining, a half empty stadium and it was a 0 - 0 draw. Not conducive to returning. Oh, and there's nowhere to park these days.

If we shared there I wouldn't go ,I would rather share at Carlisle though this would make me liable to bumping into nws on a more regular basis. What a dilemma🤣

The excellent Tracy Crouch getting involved ( again ) on behalf of all football fans: ' KentishFootball @kentishfootie · 24m Kent MP Tracey Crouch: We are writing to request the Government allow for the urgent return of fans to Non-League football clubs, which are the heart of our constituencies and for whose future we fear: kentishfootball.co.uk/news/LetFansIncampaign180820 ' Whatever political colour you are, Tracy is one extremely committed and capable MP, Chatham & Aylesford are lucky to be represented by her.

At least she is still making public pronouncements. The 50 something, ex minister and current Tory MP, Mark Francois has been unusually quiet for a couple of weeks.

Oh, and there's nowhere to park these days. Whatever your allegiance, 3 sides of Priestfield is a very decent stadium, the exception being the away end. It suffers from being in a shit area with no parking, but the 3 sides that are properly developed are impressive for the size and level of the club.

Much as I am loathe to provide a link to the Grauniad, they had a fairly accurate assessment of their facilities and surrounding area. Been a while (about 28 years, funnily enough) since I've lowered my standards enough to go there. www.theguardian.com/football/2004/oct/10/newsstory.sport2

Shame about the stanchions on the Gordon Road side. If you’re going to build a new stand these days, don’t block the view. If you need roof supports, make them thin, not huge girders.

Being miles away I was happy to get a footy fix by watching the development squad game against VCD at the weekend. If the club was to do this for league games I'd be happy to pay for it. I say this in ignorance of any bureaucracy that might get in the way of things like the FA having copyright or something.

BT might own TV rights. Then there’s the issue of how to put up a paywall. But I’d definitely pay if it was available.

Tories are basically Tories, even if otherwise they can sometimes pass as human beings. But Ms Crouch is that rare thing, a Tory I do have some time for. As well as supporting non-league, she also did a lot to help Radio Caroline out. A paradox for me, as that's two of the most important things in my life, and yet she supported Brexit and supports Johnson and the current shambles.

Strange indeed. TC is a decent local MP and always comes across as a decent person. Was initially pro EU, but after that be referendum has since been in favour, presumably to mirror the way the constituency voted. Understandable if you want to stay MP I suppose. But then she voted for Boris. Principles, what principles?

Those below NLS / NLN can now admit spectators:
' KentishFootball @kentishfootie · 13m Nigel Huddleston MP: "We’ve clarified guidance for organisers of non-elite sports events to help them admit spectators safely - with social distancing. The FA definition of non-elite means football clubs below National League North/South can admit some spectators." '
