A desperately sad tweet, all players available for signing:
' Dover Athletic have announced that all of their players have been made available for free transfer, with the club's future in serious doubt '
Tweet from ' Non League Daily '
Really sad news....

First things first ,nobody, even me,wants a defunct Dover Athletic. Secondly this highlights what I have been saying for years and that is the players are greedy bastards. Thirdly, though I hate Jim Parmentosser and Andy Hessenwanker I do hope their fans lay a proportionate percentage of the blame on the players not manager or owner. Lastly, we all saw this coming, why has it took Parmentosser until now to realise?

such a shame non league players would not help out a nonleague club. This is issue when traditional non league clubs try and act like league clubs. Im sure they'll be fine though.they could offer themselves for relegation and swap with Dartford as play off losers?

Hasn’t he threatened to withdraw support before? Could just be a negotiating tactic.

Indeed, which is why nobody here has suggested we go for any of their players. Even if we could afford them, suspect we are beneath their status. Another two months before the season starts and no certainty of any return to former income - you'd think even the average non league footballer could work out that 80% of what they are currently earning is better than 100% of nothing.

That was my observation too, if they need a further 20% cut overall it demonstrates how close to the red line Dover have lived for the last few seasons. Assuming the players come off furlough for a pre season of sorts, one has to question the business model if one month without crowds will liquidate a club.

I believe the owner has been bankrolling the club for some time. Not for the first time has he suggested pulling the plug, although in the past it has often been about lack of support from the fans. I imagine he is a little bit miffed by the players reaction to his wages offer. He has cried wolf before, so this may well be more of the same. On the other hand - - - -
