30 years ago...
Maidstone United have got to the Division 4 play-offs. We lost. Oh well, not bad for a first season - we'll do better next year.
Liverpool (my little club) have won Division 1 for the 18th time. No doubt we'll win it again next season with this squad.
England have got to the semi-finals of the World Cup. Just imagine what we can do in 1992 and 1994!
God, football's painful. No association with LFC beyond picking them as my team in 1974 (it was that or champions Leeds, and I've got some taste) but I'm glad that 30-year wait is over.

Yes there was some reality programme (was it the Jungle?) where Martin (if that's his name) came across as so arrogant that he was ostracised by the other celebs. So much so, that you ended up feeling sorry for him!
