Why is it that so many people who think they could make a better job of running the club than the owners, aren't actually running the club?
Just stop bloody whining.

It is the big devide, successful enough in the NLS but will rarely prosper in the National League. Anyhow even in NLS, if the players we want to recruit prefer morning training sessions and our management/coaching team believe they can get the best out of individuals through morning training sessions, then 3 mornings sessions a week is the best model for the club. As Steve would say, simple !

Yep, that was the thread Mr Sword, you had a pop at me for hoping and wishing and believing we would get to the play-offs. Ah well, you won. As for Terry Casey i have met him a little bit at matches where he has been with us supporters. Cant imagine many owners do that too often. Speaking as I find him, as good as gold.

I dont like his attitude sometimes but that doesnt make him a bad person. You say that I won, well I didnt realise it was a competition but I will say that winning isnt the be all and end all of life in many ways especially winning at all costs. As the years go by you will find this out for yourself that that big ,fat, ugly, useless, good for nothing Swordy wasnt far from the mark.

The reason it is argued Nick is because it has worked for years, five of the top six in NLS used this model and good partime nonlleague players who do not live and breathe football and have other jobs cannot make daytime training. Pretty simple really :-) Maybe that's why they are in the NLS. Exactly Dave. And so are we...so we should be targeting them surely?? I admire the confidence of fans who feel repeating last year's model is the right move.i hope they are right and we challenge the top 7.

Surely if we have ambitions for promotion, targeting the same group of players as those who are happy simply to do well in NLS isn't the way forward.

It certainly did, although Wealdstone probably over achieved in terms of expectations.
Not so for our favourite club !
Wealdstone must have had very good management combined with a good squad and hey presto.
Their success was not because they they did their training in the evenings rather than mornings.
What we don't know is how many of the Wealdstone squad would have still signed up for another type of training regime.
We shall probably find out soon enough, but unless they have a sugar daddy, money will be extremely tight for them.
John and Hak did imo under-achieve last season, Hak will have his work cut out to deliver against the owners expectations.

I think the owners' expectations are pretty modest this season by the sounds of it. The reference by Bill to using the U23s is interesting because I would assume most of those players are part time and have other jobs so will they be able to attend the morning training sessions?

It could be simply down to capital. I, for instance, might be able to make a better job of running things but don't have enough money to buy my way in. Just for the record, I am happy with things the way they are.

Capitalism is inherently unstable and will eventually end in violent collapse to be superseded by a new socialist order. Discuss. Over to you Mr Pedant...
