Article in NL paper says Stones are part of working group looking at salary cap tor NL.
Set at around 500k for NLS.
Other clubs represented on group include gravesend, sutton, boreham wood, chesterfield and Daggers.

I can't think we have ever been really concerned about a salary cap! What player have we had recently that warrants a salary above the notional cap? Joe Pigott perhaps, Matt McClure just possibly, but paying top wages isn't in Terry's current thinking, I suspect.

I would support clubs being forced to live within their means, if it was enforceable.

What does that mean, for the whole playing squad ?
Can't imagine anybody gets close to that.

A salary cap at this level just wouldn't work.
It would be to hard to police & the bankrolled clubs would just pay extra by cash in hand to attract the better players.

It would degenerate into the farce that was amateurism once was. Expenses & boot money there will be more loop holes then a string vest

All down the pub after the game, where the owners hands out bundles of 20s.
That couldn't possibly happen.

You can audit professional sports leagues now. The NFL might be a cess pit, but the books balance. And look what happened to Saracens.
