Exactly. The world is not what it seems. Coronavirus is real, and it kills, but the extent of its actual killing and the truth about the global house arrest of an entire world population and enforced suspension of all civil and personal liberties that is lockdown based upon a viral, irrational fear poured out by a biased media on dodgy illogical statistics engineered to give credence to that fear (as above) absolutely stinks, and needs to be challenged, questioned and resisted by anyone who still has free will and a thinking brain. I, too, experienced distant acquaintances forced onto Covid wards when they didn't have it just because they coughed, others who died DURING the crisis being forced to have Covid as the cause whether they had it or not, and others denied (serious) healthcare due to 40% of hospitals closed to such healthcare due to being on standby for a flood of Covid cases that never came. I say distant acquaintances as I don't know of anyone that actually died of it. My daughter knows of one distant acquaintance of hers (over 60) who had Covid 19 and also had congenital longstanding heart problems and so his death certificate says he died of Covid 19 but the hospital cannot say for sure that his Covid caused the heart failure, just that he had both at the same time. However, he is in the stats as a Coronavirus death. Something stinks. And before you go blaming Boris, or Trump, this is happening in every country in the world, not just ours. In Romania, with a far, far less infection rate and death rate than ours, they have only just started letting them go to the supermarket! It stinks much. Are you a Holocaust denier as well. Covid is real and is a massive problem. Forget what's recorded on death certificates. The most telling statistic is a comparison between the current death rate and the average for the same period over the last 5 years. This year's deaths are over 60,000 up, so around 60,000 likely to have died as a result of the virus. We'll never know the actual number because some deaths will be wrongly attributed, but that works both ways. However you can't argue with the increase in the overall death rate. Too many loony conspiracy theories on the forum. I sometimes think it's been taken over by the flat earth society. You go too far - the Earth is clearly flat. I'm sure BBJ would tell you that, even if you go to the top of the highest building, the horizon is still straight.

I find it amazing that he feels everyone is a brainwashed idiot for believing covid is a real health threat and not a Chinese ploy but readily defends a PM who won't release the Russia report. His adherence to a tissue of lies around brexit is phenomenol too. The slow unravelling of the 'we will maintain high food standards' will be one of many lines where him and his pals will have to explain the reality as it contrasts their fantasy. I don't know whether China has done something awful either puposefully or accidentally but I do know there was utter lies around brexit. BBJ is media and social media brainwashed.

After yesterday's news about the latest easings here and fresh issues in places like Germany and South Korea, I find myself increasingly less content with the government's content. Korea has had to close over 200 schools today, because of a new spike in cases and only days since they reopened. Germany has likewise seen a new spike. Other countries, with far fewer cases than the UK, are being much more cautious about easing lockdown. Indeed, here we are, with the second highest number of deaths and one of the highest death rates, further easing lockdown on a day when well over 300 people died, for the second day running. Yet Bojo stands there and says targets have been met.
Mmmm.
Government has said all along that decision making is driven by the scientific advice. If so, maybe they should start questioning their advisors more? Or maybe there is more politics involved, like trying to deflect things away from a certain advisor. The Daily Mail and Sun front pages think easing is good though, so that makes it ok then. We were late applying all the restrictions that other countries have used to successfully limit the pandemic and now seem hell bent of easing them early too. It all adds up to worrying times, not just because of the virus itself, but the fact that the island of Great Britain could be turning into a plague ship that the rest of the world won't want to touch with the proverbial barge pole. Just hope I'm worrying too much.

Doesn't matter what this or any other government does. If we're ever gonna get back to anything like a normal life we're gonna have to get used to living with the virus. It's here to stay so unless we, and all future generations, want to spend our entire existence in lockdown we'll just have to accept that people are gonna die from it. A vaccine will help but we aren't ever going to get rid of it.

In the same way as my dad had diphtheria and I didn't, I had measles, but my kids didn't. Measles (and possibly diphtheria?) still exists, but no one stays indoors or practises social distancing to avoid it.
