Can you imagine what it's going to be like trying to enter any ale house the first evening people are allowed back in? If you do get in you won't be able to get back out again. They might have to use a social distance queuing method just to stop people getting trampled in a stampede. No problem, if anyone gets in my way I'll whack 'em with me stick, they'll soon move.😁

I'm hearing certain pubs may be in trouble for lock ins.

It shouldn't matter if you're locked in as long as the pub doesn't let you out until the crisis is over.

The lockdown isn't just going to stop one day, and we all go back to normal. If that happened, we'd have a new epidemic on our hands in a couple of weeks. Somehow, they are going to have to ease restrictions slowly - but God alone knows how (I just hope someone competent in the government is working on this, but, after the last month or so of flying by the seat of their pants, I fear not).
Plus people have got used to not being near others - our mindset is now one of avoiding infection. No one is going to trust that it's safe to go back to 'normal'. How many on here would be happy to sit on a crowded train or tube in a few weeks time? What happens if the government tell you it's safe to go back to work, and you'll no longer got money for being at home, but you don't consider the journey to work to be safe?
Much as I would love to have a pint in a pub right now, I don't want anyone sitting near me, and I want to be damn sure the glass I'm drinking out of has been washed properly...

The tougher the lockdown, the harder it will be to break free. At the moment, testing says 50000 confirmed cases, but it must be ten times that, so that means at least 60 million of us still haven't had it. As currently there is not only no vaccine, there is no confirmed drug to treat it either, so loosen the shackles and we are quickly back to looking at half a million deaths... So, we are two weeks into the lockdown, with the chances of it ending next Monday being zero, you'd think. Italy and other countries 'ahead' of us are now extending their lockdowns to the end of the month, which suggests we may well have to be under these restrictions until mid May. Or longer, thanks to the bollix we made of testing. At least new Labour leader Kier Starmer is pressing the government from the start, as Corbyn had been noticeable by his absence these last few weeks. The country needs to have some idea of an exit strategy, so there is something to look forward too, even if it is still weeks away.

The country needs to have some idea of an exit strategy, so there is something to look forward too, even if it is still weeks away. At the moment, the government is entirely dependent on the support of the people, but if this starts to waver, there simply aren't enough police and soldiers to squeeze the cat back into the bag. It's been relatively easy so far, with spring and the novelty of being on an unexpected 'holiday', and food, etc back in the shops, but it will start to wear on people's nerves after a while and there'll be a lot of people out there who fallen between the various governments schemes and are running out of money. The pressure will be building up - a prolonged lockdown, with few visibly positive results and a no believable plan for afterwards, is not sustainable. The psychology of this situation needs very careful handling - is this government up to it?

It looks possible that the over 70's and others with underlying health conditions could be in isolation for at least a year. Wonder what % of the fan base this is equivalent to ? Possibly only 10% of the Genco, but 30% of the Main Stand and 20% elsewhere. Whatever, another potential hammer blow to club finances.
