How does it work? Are they running an offy, or do you order online or by phone? When I was a kid you could take a jug or two to your local and they'd fill them up for you!

Comedy night at the Walnut Tree sounds appealing at the moment. Old House at Home if they finish the refurb. Or a micropub crawl in Chatham with a 101 bus ride home. Anywhere with football, assuming football restarts.

BBC News - Coronavirus: UK considers virus-tracing app to ease lockdown www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-52095331Seems like somebody has indeed been thinking about how we ease back to normality. China and Singapore already have something like this going, while given that many of our movements (!) are already tracked by Google maps and so on, then it may be the price we have to pay to get back to normal. Will need a LOT more testing than at present to make it work though.

Start at Flippin Frog, 12 Degrees and Dead Pigeon, not sure if the Northern Seaman is still there. Plus a few surviving regular pubs.

Plus a few surviving regular pubs. Funnily enough, I am currently working my way through a delivery from The Dead Pigeon, and will finish with a 7% ham sandwich IPA (am celebrating a work project completion). I like the Dead Pigeon.

The Prince of Wales next to the bus stop is part of a big chain, but always has several really cheap ales, with a loyalty card scheme. Also loads of TV screens showing football. I always refused a card as it was so cheap anyway.

Never had one of them but a Jennings Sneck Lifter would go down a treat.

That caused me problems on several occasions in Carlisle Had some happy days wandering up and down Botchergate getting tanked on Jennings beers and I remember a few decent pubs on Lowther street as well. I also spent my 19th birthday in the Cumberland hotel with my fiancee at the time. God it seems like a thousand years ago.

Can you imagine what it's going to be like trying to enter any ale house the first evening people are allowed back in? If you do get in you won't be able to get back out again. They might have to use a social distance queuing method just to stop people getting trampled in a stampede.
