Anyone who expected anything else from a charlatan with a track record like Johnston's (see his time as Mayor of London) and a party of extreme right-wingers and incompetents, elected on the nonsense slogan of "getting Brexit done", should hardly be surprised by any of this. When the Great Pretender won, I thought oh well, we lost, it's not the end of the world. But I now fear that historians will come to look back on 2019 as a 'perfect storm' of disastrous coincidence - a pandemic hits just as 'we' elect a government least able to cope with it. Do you really think Corben's mob would have done any better. We don't have competent politicians in this country. Germany started ordering chemicals for testing kits as soon as the first cases were recorded outside China. They, and North Korea have plentiful supplies. Most of the rest of the World is playing catch up and scrabbling around for what's left. Some countries have politicians who act, some have politicians who talk and unfortunately we're in the second group. To answer your question. Yes I do. You can't defend this shambolic bunch of cretinous liars by making sweeping statements about the mob that didn't win the election. Everyone that voted fpr this and cheered to the rafters can hang their heads in shame. Other parties have been screaming for investment in the country for ten years. Suddenly, we find the market sorts nothing and we have a government running us into the ground economically (if we keep following the corrupt, useless system we follow). They cant blame Blair now

Oh shit! Here we go again. TBH Mr Sword, it will be cringeworthy watching the Tories justifying their use of left wing policies and racking up of debt having spent ten years telling us it was bad for the country. In crisis time they are spending us into the ground. Exactly what they claimed was Labour bankrupting the country before. Will Alex be on TV to claim their spending has bankrupt the country and austerity is needed again?

Just to get us back on topic before it gets totally out of control
Happy to say my daughter now seems fully recovered and was back at school for a couple of days last week, all be it only looking after one child.

Well, at least Johnson will be able to tell us how it was for him.
Or not.

Thanks everyone. It's been a very worrying time, especially as it went on so long. About a month in all but week three seemed to be the crisis, so relief has been gradually building since then.
