Normally, I'd put this in the non-Stones section, but, as is well known - no bugger reads that.
And, anyway, there is no football!
Just wondering if anyone's had the virus and recovered, or knows someone who's had it or got it - what was/is it like?
I've heard reports of everthing from 'very mild, hardly knew I had it', to 'worse thing I've ever had, hurt like hell, still can't manage the stairs'. The reported symptoms vary a lot too. Most seem to be a dry cough and a temperature, plus lots of pain and difficulty breathing, but some people also get sickness and diarrhoea. In at least one case, it was reported as very mild symptoms for a four or five days, but a few days later it came back full strength.

I’m convinced I had this in February (or something really similar to it). I started with a high temp one night in bed (I was shivering uncontrollably) and then followed an awful cough and feeling like death. Then about a week later one evening I started being unable to breathe properly. I don’t have COPD or asthma but due to my mature (!) age, 111 advised me to go to hospital pronto. A raft of test including my first ever ECG, Chest X-ray and blood tests all came back as normal and the doctor said the explanation was that the virus had caused my airways to close up.
Sounds familiar...
edited to say the treatment was a Salbutamol (Ventolin) inhaler and a course of 8 x steroid tablets for a week.

Someone from my school year (so early 50s) caught it in Milan. 2 unpleasant weeks at home. Fever cough breathlessness. No hospital though.

Mate had it. Was in isolation until yesterday.
1 day coming, 2 bad days in bed (fever, headache, no energy, hallucinations, sore throat) and then 2 days of feeling pretty rubbish in the sofa.
Woke up on day 6 as if he had never had it.
Weird, but could have been normal flu. He won’t know until he is tested I guess

My wife was talking to someone on the phone who had a friend with a husband in hospital dying and she couldnt see him. It is an awful disease and i dont mind saying it scares me after my trip to hospital in December. Please keep isolating and distancing. I dont want to be mourning people on here.

2 of my work colleagues possibly had it during the Xmas period. Symptoms were similar. Very wet sweats, bad cramps etc. We were all working at Heathrow during that period

If you had been working at Heathrow then it's likely you and your colleagues could've been exposed to the virus.

Daughter has it. Day 16 now since she became aware. Still has a temperature and feeling exhausted but the tightness in her chest is starting to ease. She's been really unwell like an extreme dose of flu. Certainly not the mild symptoms they're saying most of us will experience. Just to add, she's nearly 30 with no underlying health issues. Her partner on the other hand, had a cough and temperature for about 3 days and has completely recovered.

Well at least she seems over the worse thank goodness. Must have been a worry. The problem is you just feel so helpless. We've been skyping her every day so at least that's reassuring. She had a visit from paramedics last week, and although they didn't test her for CV, she had all the other routine tests they do which while she still felt awful, at least reassured her that she wasn't in immediate danger.

But, unless the Chineese really have been keeping it quiet (and the facts suggest otherwise - that it really did start in a 'wet market'in Wuhan in mid-December), this was just another flu virus.
