In Canada it was announced all ice hockey would be suspended, 6 hours later a Canadian research team release a statement saying that they have isolated covid-19 and have a working vaccine.
Take ice hockey away from Canadians and they sort shit out.
Take football away from us brits and we're like what do we do now 🤷

Eastbourne will be our last match this season, sadly. How will the authorities sort out play-offs/relegation and the rest ? Pretty sure it will be August before the dust has settled and everything begins to re-boot.

Indeed. Even so, the number of cases in Kent currently stands at eleven, apparently, out of a population of 1.5 million. While I appreciate all the concerns and potential ramifications, it nevertheless makes you wonder.

Wonder what ? That it us all fake news or vastly over-blown ? Sadly, I think the prophets of doom are like to prove correct with many hundred of thousands of people infected in our county alone. You can ignore the experts and the advice of the health professionals if you wish. The choice is yours although I suspect it won't be for very much longer.

Pretty sure it will be August before the dust has settled and everything begins to re-boot. Massive issues to be dealt with re promotion/relegation with the exception of a few teams everything else is to play for a lot of clubs and i think no matter what the fa decide they will have teams threatening/filing lawsuits. Some of the suggested scenarios so far: Scrap the 19/20 season completely and use the 18/19 season standings for European places, and the teams will play in the leagues that they have been for this season, this would piss off the Leeds, west broms, teams a top of any league going down as they would not get promoted on this years performances. Scrap the rest of the season and use the current standings for Europe, promotion/relegation this would piss of teams in the battle for Europe, those battling relegation and those who feel that they could break into the top 2/3/playoffs, there would be no fa cup winners so the charity shield in 20/21 could be Liverpool champions v man city league cup winners, there would be no European semi finals or finals, so no super cup for the 20/21 season and no world club cup. They already have a plan in place for league structure next season anyway that realigns the non league system and deals with burys expulsion

No panic, just a dose of reality. More than a hint of 'ostrich syndrome' from those in denial.

I can see many law suits coming of that situation. The rest of the issues do not involve si much money so may be accepted more readily, but we know how greedy football clubs are all hell could break loose. Am I right in thinking it's the European championship this year and will that take place?

Apparently our U23 game at home to Bromley has been called off.

Johnston now done a U turn and buckled under the criticism over not officially banning big events - bans likely to be introduced next week. No detail yet, so no idea if it will affect us. Here's hoping we can manage to carry on - Wu Flu is bad enough, but no football as well?! I've only just noticed JDL, are you confessing to being a 01001110010001010101001001000100? If so, there is no need to be so covert, after all the Big Bang Theory has made it a cool thing.

The reality is nobody knows.
Logically, as this virus is now free in a completely defenceless community, it should go on to infect almost everyone in probably just a few weeks. The only reason we still can't handle the reality of that is that none of us have any experience of such a thing - it just seems too big to be real. But I can't see anything to stop it.
But perhaps that won't happen? We just don't know. Also, what will be it's impact? It seems that the death rate is less than things like flu and that many/most people will only get it mildly - so perhaps it will turn out to be much less serious than we expect, and society will carry in functioning through it, pretty much like it does with snow or floods?
At the moment, we simply don't know. And that's the problem - fear of the unknown. We are like rabbits staring at the headlights of the oncoming car. Once the virus hits in numbers it will become a known thing that we can cope with.

Presumably having a 3G pitch will be a distinct advantage with regard to keeping the business going. Revenue for those with grass is going to be very limited, and the longer this goes on, one can only assume that club survival might be very difficult for some.

Perhaps we will get promoted as the only club left alive.
