Ok, I admit I am just a punter who has little idea of football management and tactics.
But Ross Marshall being selected to play as a striker and not a centre back ?
What the hell is that all about
For me he just doesn't come close, simply doesn't have the qualities required.
I must admit to not being his greatest fan as a holding midfielder.
But as a centre back, all in all he has looked pretty impressive
Playing him up front will do nothing imo to improve our attack, but it won't do him any favours either.
John, you had better come up with a better option.

Wish can’t defend. Think he’d be better in his usual spot Yeah I agree he can’t defend, which is why he struggled last season. Perhaps he will go with a back 3 of Johnson Knight and Marshall with Wishart and Hoyte as wingbacks in that case. That sounds much better, Hammer, as it puts Marshall and Wish where they play best and sticks to the 5 at the back from Tuesday, which we seem to need against teams like Bath and H&R to stop them running up a cricket score...……..as long as Johnson finds his early season mojo again as he got caught out too many times on Tuesday. Controversial, maybe, but to get goals I would put Olutade up front with Akanbi and Justin with Temelci and Khan in midfield, but Temelci has to raise his game as his 2nd half on Tuesday was awful. He does remind me of Reece Prestedge though for some reason. Bouchard cannot seem to last a full game on Tuesdays showing, so better for him to come on as a second half sub if we are winning or drawing to solidify things. He reminds me of Simon Walton! I like Iffy Allen but he's pretty lightweight so, again, a bench option if the bold top 3 doesn't work. He reminds me of Charles Banya (Was that his name?). Captain? Why not Marshall? He does everything else for us! If not, I cant think who would do it - maybe Jake Cole? Hoyte? No one really leaps out as a leader. But there again, what do I know? BTW - Whatever happened to Clovis? Did I miss something?

Can see us really struggle for this game, squad battered by suspensions an injuries, stikers lacking any form of confidence, so expecting a very low crowd an if we are lucky might be able to hold on for a draw.

This Saturday will be the first leg of a Hampton and Ricmond double for me as I intend to join the Beavers at Tonbridge on Tuesday which gives me a dilemma. Do I want Tonbridge to win to aid our play off Hope's or do I go for Hampton because I hate Tonbridge with a passion.Hmm! Sorry guys I will side with Hampton on Tuesday so we really need to beat them on Saturday. One other point ,should I ask Tonbridge to segregate the crowd as the same supporters who are such a danger to me on Saturday will be allowed to roam free, should I be scared that my friends are going to attack me?

Bouchard reminds you of Simon Walton. I could see the resemblance . Little fat guy with a beard lol- I meant as in being well into his 30s lost his legs and reduced to being a midfield blocker trying to make passes. Of course. Talking of which what’s happened to Clovis? We seemed to have had a player of that name once who suddenly doesn’t seem to exist anymore anywhere.......injured? On loan? Coaching? Eloped? Abducted by Aliens? Or did he never exist at all? If he is real, surely he did what Boucard now does?
