Are they being paid huge sums though, and compared to what? Not sure we know - though would be interesting to find out. In terms of value for money, what would that mean? Pounds spent, on playing and coaching staff, per point gained over a certain number of games? If such info was available, it would also be interesting to see which leagues offer best value for money, while it could also point out which managers get the most out of their budget and squad. Who ever that turns out to be, we need to sign him up for next season!

If you have the answers sword, then why havn't Terry and Oliver come knocking at your door ? Stands to reason really, if only you were in charge the team would be in a better place ! When will the owners come to their senses and recognise the management talent on this forum ? They wont come knocking on my door because they wont get passed my security tortoise but if they did manage to bribe him with some lollo rosso they would then have to risk Malcolm's razor sharp beak. I dont have all the answers but t he problem is the two people that T&0 are paying huge sums of money too dont have them either.Great comeback Swordy boy. Don't mess with the Sword, or his Tortoise, or Malcolm. Especially if you are only a spider.

Click on member's name. Click on icon at top right. Block member's posts. Sorted. Thanks Barney, I didn't know that. Sorted! Classic narcissism. Nobody wants to engage in his political thread, so he wrecks every other discussion for attention. So back on topic. I still think we will miss out on the play offs, just. The question is how to build for next season. And as every football fan has ever said, we are two or three experienced signings away from being really rather good. No more wholesale changes please.

That would be nice, but suspect the issue will really be one of how many can we hold on to?

That would be nice, but suspect the issue will really be one of how many can we hold on to? Indeed. I'd like to think we were building, but these are FT players always with an eye to a better job - as are we all! Also wasn't it said that JS2 would step down and hand over 100% to Hak? So we would even keep John! Who knows? Still got a season to finish and a miracle turnaround is still possible!

Firstly, I didn't actually reply to you so I am confused by your claims about needing to read your post properly. Anyway, since when have you advcoated reading things? It was a response to the general theme running on a couple of threads. This board reads like a generic premier board more and more with histrionics OTT mourning etc. Like you and Brexit you mean? Sorry, I know I said I'd leave you alone but I actually have an agenda of trying to engage you and possibly others in some argument while pretending I want to talk football. There. I corrected it for you. I'd like to correct you on your fabulous comeback and your self-congratulation at teaching me is fully earned. Just to clarify...I am 'OTT' about people in power running the country for their own purposes, lying, getting people to vote for their own downfall so they (the already rich and powerful) can have even more but you feel this is equivalent to moaning about the managers of a Conference South football team watched by a couple of thousand people. OK. Oh and why did you feel the need to start Brexit up on a football thread?

Just last night I read a Linwood Barclay novel from cover to cover. What did you read? Dont tell me let me guess erm Billy Liar no theres no politics in that. I know Dominic Raabs bedtime stories for children no not enough lies in that. I know What lies beneath no wrong sort of lies. I know now it was 1001 interesting things about the Maastricht treaty paragraph five subsection 4 d,yes that's the one I bet you were so excited. So why not chat on about a Lingwood Barclay novel rather than offer things as 'facts' when you haven't actually read them

If you bothered to look I actually offered an opinion on the what i see as the ridiculous rubbish being spouted on here re managers and the team. The person you are offering advice to started going on about Brexit in return. I might also point out that you wanted to engage right up until you realised you had no knowledge, no coherent argument and were looking stupid. You then tried to pretend it was a wind up before scuttling of to harp at the sidelines, like now. Classic idiocy from you. Still thanks for your 'back on topic' comments. Glad to see your posts have lost none of their generic qualities.

Thanks Barney, I didn't know that. Sorted! He still pops up all the time though. You are spared reading his self obsessed drivel (until someone replies to it), but he's still all over the board. And it's still just as depressing. As ever. My most faithful follower pops up protesting his dislike for my posts. Sorry sweetie. Have I not posted anything to you. Depressing is your tedious stats rubbish. 12000+ posts. Mr no life.

The trouble is that NWS is absolutely correct about the constant moaning by expert pundits This is non league football and i use it to meet my mates and have a few beers and be happy when we win but do not kick the dogs when we lose If you really want an example of a miserable season you should have tried the Andy Ford season down at Ashford Trust me this is a million times better than that. At one stage we were about a week from not having a club again I still have nightmares about that season. I think the point a lot of people are making,or maybe just me , is that we were promised by the owners that we would have a team that would bring back the feel good factor and make games, especially at home, more enjoyable by playing good attacking football. This,by and large, is not happening. All we seem to do is lump the ball forward, hope a winger gets it who then drills a 100mph cross in and hope our 5'6" forward can jump high enough to get it. We dont shoot enough, when we get into good positions we look to pass instead of shooting but no we pass, pass, and pass again until we finally lose the ball. Teams are beating us because they know how to play football whereas our full time players seem somewhat lost half the time just as if they dont know what to do. Is this bad players or bad management? At this moment in time I am blaming the management as I think we have talent in our team but it's not being used correctly. I now look forward to you and everyone else telling me how wrong I am. From the little I have seen of the season, it has been a mixed bag of some decent play and some of what you describe. While I recognise it might be luck that we have played better at games I have been at, it seems to me there is some histrionics going on on here.

Someone (bringbakjay?) asked about our attendance figures the other day.
Our current average is 1,864 – 2nd in the NS (and equivalent to 12th in the NL).
Down on last season by 314 (14%). Not a bad drop, all things considered. Although the drop from our peak in the NL two seasons ago is actually closer to 23% (548).
This is probably about what would be expected, but it does mean quite a drop in revenue - a loss of nearly a quarter of a million quid over the season*.
We are also down compared to our last season in the NS - by 358 (16%). Although obviously times have changed a lot since our '3 in 4' charge up the leagues.
In fact, we are now pretty close to our average in our last IP season (1,846), so around 1,800 is probably our ’base’ support. That’s a long way short of the heady days of averaging over 2,200 in the NL, but it's still pretty fantastic for a non-league club.
(*assuming an average of £15 on the gate and £5 spent in the ground)

Put like that JDL, it's a fairly depressing set of statistics.
We know the Stones are very well supported, but down by 358 per match in the same league is a telling figure.
Down still by 548 from those heady National League days has had a massive impact on revenue.
No wonder the wages bill was slashed so dramatically, no wonder we cannot recruit some of the players we would like to see.
It also demonstrates that the club is well able to run as a 'full-time' outfit but we need performances to match the potential.

You are so arrogant, presuming to translate something I said into what you think it says...............or are you are just paranoid? Are you Olboy? I joined this forum for strong debate of strong footballing opinions on the fortune of our Conference South football team watched by a few thousand supporters amongst like minded people at a time when I felt the Managers weren't delivering (Hence my name - doh!), as that's what this forum is for - NOT politics. Its that's simple. If you are that upset about Politicians why do you waste your time on a football forum for a Conference South Football Team watched by a few thousand supporters and not in a Political Party or on street corners? Its not me that is looking for arguments, nws. Are you Wolfie Smith? Nuff said. I also feel sorry for the other individuals you sniped back at one by one in the early hours of this morning - really not necessary. Back to the FOOTBALL and the title of this thread - I think our play off chances have slipped to 60% against, but that still means we have a 40% shout and for all the mediocrity, underperformance and concerns, if we got to play offs and actually won we would all be cheering our nuts off - even I would be! I might even change my forum name to KeepJohnStill!

Just to note facts again (tricky as that is for you). I posted something about the ridiculous OTT histrionics of the sack manager brigade and you started blathering on about Brexit. It's there for all to see. As for the poor souls I sniped back at...notice the word 'back' in that sentence. If you are so anti-management then I look forward to you attending the next supporters meeting and airing those view to the people that matter, the owners and managers not on some forum that is read by 50 people. You were told the ignore button and you were going on about how great it was. Today you dominate my notifications. Nuff said. I don't exist just to have arguments...I am there for those that do though.
