We are clearly a lot better off than Braintree, who currently seem to have a team and management to match their ground. Despite losing McClure, we do still have scorers in Amaluzor and Wishart, to add to Akanbi. However, as JS will say, it is about combinations and for whatever reason our scoring combinations aren't doing as well just now. Olutade showed glimpses of his ability when he came on, but whether he is up to NLS level remains to be seen. We are without the ever reliable Dan Wishart for two games now, so can only hope Noah isn't out for long. However, Ryan Johnson is available again, so maybe he or Marshall, or the new guy can fill in at full back. Corne certainly looked lively when he came on, so hopefully he can fill the midfield space left by Wishart, or even have a go at McClure's role. At least we have options, which is more than could be said only a month ago and every game starts to look like a cup final from now on. And there is still plenty to play for.

Braintree must be very glad only two are going down this season, otherwise it would be looking like two relegations on the trot.
Mind you, it's very tight down there - only 3 points separating 21st and 17th - and with Tonbridge and Ricay having 4 games in hand, Braintree could still easily find themselves in the shite.
Back where they, and their ground, belong?

The Iffy, penalty claim hard to see clearly from the town end but our players in close proximity were adamant it was a pen and their players looked like they were expecting a penalty to be given, this imo is a sign that it is a penalty. It looked a clear penalty from the Town End. Having just watched the highlights, it still looks a clear penalty. The only thing the ref could claim is that Iffy was already going down (his natural habitat) when he was tackled.

With only 458 bothering it would be a sad state of affairs if they had continued their National League (as opposed to National League South) segregation policy.

It wasn't classic, we weren't great, for FT players the football offered still wasn't worth - in my view - the FT wages, but we won, Braintree were awful and this is only NLS level after all. The important thing is that scrappy or not, or not as classy as we would like, its actually looking good for play offs after these vital two wins on the bounce and so we are on track, and a little bit of tentative excitement may even be starting to get going. We weren't expected to get to, let alone win, the play off final at Gravesend last time around, so a happy deja vu may be slowly forming!

Khan’s tackle looks awful on the highlights. He could have walked for that. Clearly aerial when he arrived. Lucky boy

A little high but definitely not feet first, and only marginally late. If you're not gonna go for balls like that the game is dead.

For me, Kahn wasn't tackling. He saw their player was getting there first and pulled out. Sensible as it probably saved a serious injury for both of them.

Only time i miss Braintree away and it's not segregated - balls As George demonstrated they didn't even adequately segregate the players from the crowd
