Chiesmain off injured, Wishart now at full back, booked. We had a full strength side for all of half an hour! Left side suddenly looks weaker... That said, still too good for Braintree at the moment. Just need to put them out of reach before the second half is too old.

Best first half from us this season imo, Braintree goalie best player for them. Three disappointments for us tho:- Chesmain going off, Wish's booking and us not having killed the game off already like we could have with chances created. Braintree wont be as bad second half as they were first so I reckon we've still got a tough game on our hands!

I will stick to my 3-1 from earlier in the thread but I will elevate the crowd by 100 to 1925. Got the result right at least ,not far off with the crowd but took BETFRED for another £36.82😁

Strangely disappointing game. Largely dominated, played some nice football, but should scored three or four instead of allowing them to have a go in the last few minutes. Two weak sides in a row that we ought to have scored more against, but midfield looked good, even Corne making a strong impression when he came on.

Yep, agree with that, somehow it finished a bit flat although the peformance overall was pretty decent and even encouraging. It would have been nice to put a below average team to the sword and give supporters something to shout about. The performance overall was worth a 3 or 4 goal win and there's the rub. Still the midfield is looking the best we have seen over the season and I am even warming to Marshall as a centre back. What a great goal by Justin, maybe we can forgive him his timekeeping. How can Iffy be so casual about putting the ball in the net at the end ?

Wishart out for two games for his latest booking. Shame, he does so much for the team, filling in at left back and never seems to complain. However, gives a chance for Corne to come back. Thought Olutade looked ok when he came on, but Akanbi really needs a goal again to get his confidence back. Kahn meanwhile continues to look classy. Mom for me.

I thought we played quite well but probably should have finished them off by half time. To be fair their keeper made a helluva save towards the end of the half and another in the second, plus Khan hit the post. As always though you worry they'll nick a goal and they almost did when a stupid square pass from Temelci fell straight into the path of their striker. Fortunately Lewington was still awake despite having little to do all afternoon and made a great stop. Probably the most exciting action of the second half was Khan and one of their lads going hell for leather into a 50 - 50 tackle. It happened so quickly it was difficult to judge if there was a foul, but their lad had a red mark above his knee and the Braintree manager and coach were furious. The manager started mouthing off to the linesman, which at least distracted him while their coach threatened to knock out one of our fans who'd had a few choice words to say. Then Mr "don't use that sort of f****** language in front of these kids" waded in as he always does, to which their manager and coach quite reasonably responded by asking him why he was also using such language if he had a problem with it. Following this argument their manager spent the rest of the half sweet-talking the youngest lad and his father, perhaps trying to stave off the potential social media shitstorm that can arise from this kind of behaviour. In the end their manager was booked for screaming "look at his leg" in the linesman's face several times and things did calm down a bit after that. He was probably worried as he has a bit of form: www.thefa.com/news/2015/jan/28/george-borg-burnham-ramblers-aggravated-misconductLooked like we had a good shout for a penalty in the second half, will be interested to see that again on the highlights. Deserved win against a very poor Braintree side. Man of the match for me would be Wishart, did well in the first half and then filled in with some aplomb for Chesmain when he got injured.

Def good to see Temelci, Khan and Boucard lining up in midfield, looking so much better now in the middle of the park. Akanbi and Amaluzor both worked the Braintree defence, but once again Iffy fell a bit short imo. Defence is strong right across the backline but hopefully Chesmain not too badly hurt with Wishart about to miss a couple.

Still a team that looks a little off the pace when you take out one of the key players. Chesmain and Wishart work so well together that it never quite looks the same when one of them is missing. One slight criticism of Justin, he needs to realise he doesn't have to do it all himself. A few times he's done the hard work and a simple layoff or cross would have created a decent chance but he takes an extra touch and the opportunity is gone. This might explain our lack of cutting edge in the final third.

Back to near enough full strength for today. Means that only 3 points on the board at the end of the match will satisfy play off hopes. Stones have been held back this season by the number of draws, not to mention late goals conceded. It's a must win game. Oh God - first 'must win' game of the season!

As others had said, an odd game. We won fairly comfortably, whilst Dartford (finally!) lost, so no complaints.
But... If only we could convert all that energy and skill into goals! We do everything except score, and today was just the day to really stuff someone - Braintree (keeper excluded) were utter shite, we're not going to have easier opponents than that. But, perhaps that's the problem - we need more of a challenge?
But lots of positives today - good crowd, lots of singing, Corne back, Khan on fire, midfield looking excellent, defence never looked seriously troubled, Amaluzer looking like the player we all hoped he might be. We just need Akambi to rediscover his scoring boots.
Only negatives were the injury to Chesmain (hopefully he was taken off as a precauton) and Wishart's silly booking (it was right in front of us, and it WAS a foul, clear as day - and entirely unecessary, especially as he had already been warned by the ref 20 mins before).
And a rare disagreement with Mr 6s - I wasn't impressed with Olutade. OK, he was only on for 10 minutes, so that's a bit unfair, but he seemed very lightweight, and his positional play was suspect - he never looked like he was going to score (compare, for instance, to the trialist in the Dartford KSFC game, who looked really goal hungry). On today's performnce, he doesn't look like the replacement for McClure we so badly need - but it was only 10 minutes...
The second 'pen', really did look like a penalty too, but I think we lost it on appearance, as the way the player went down rolling, it looked like he was putting it on, and I suspect refs are never going to give those. Otherwise, the ref was OK - which has been a theme of this season, from the games I've seen - much better refs than we had in the NL.
