Easy three points?
Or will our recent lack of match practice mean a boring 0-0?

I am full of confidence and at this moment in time I think we will win 3-1. My view may change later in the week. The crowd, including the 12 from Braintree, will be 1825.

I think our absence from competitive matches will play to our advantage. Set fine for the week ahead. Optimistic about Saturday. Reckoning on a 3-1 home win with about 1,872 in attendance. Khan to get 2 goals and boost his transfer value.

2-0 - Akanbi back on form and the first from Olutade - 1,853, with 23 from Braintree.

Hopefully, with it being two weeks since our last decent performance, the team will have forgotten they often play badly in the next game. A good win important if we are really trying for the play offs, but Braintree and indeed all sides looking over their shoulders at relegation, will be no pushovers. Need a good start, then really punish then when their heads go down.

Easy three points? Or will our recent lack of match practice mean a boring 0-0? I realise 'Junior Member' on this forum doesn't automatically mean 'young' or 'recent convert to the mighty Stones' but using the term 'easy' in relation to us gaining three points, even as a question, does imply a certain lack of experience.

Can anyone explain why Akanbi is expected to run himself into the ground as a lone centre forward every match, rather than perhaps Olutade now partnering him, to provide a bigger goal threat? Or are the management concerned that our midfield might be overrun?

Maybe he is still on the naughty step? Perhaps he was the driver? Otherwise, Ibs would certainly benefit from help and as I posted elsewhere, Wishart playing higher might start adding to his goal tally again.

Not easy for Akanbi, he really needs someone to play off him or with him, like Olutade. So heavily marked and needing to make all the runs and holding play up on his own. Khan play a forward/attacking midfield role but it's not exactly the same.

I wish "Junior" Member did mean young! My "Easy three points" was very very tongue in cheek and designed 100% to provoke but even I was amazed how many people picked up on that and think that it could be an easy win - for me I don't have strong faith in our overpaid full-time-but-at-a-level-that-should-be-part-time-don't-know-what-a-hard-days-graft-is squad will suddenly switch on after missing games, nor come out of the blocks firing on all cylinders. On this years up and down shopwings - despite full-time training - I expect them to struggle to get momentum and to string three passes together! That's why I think 0-0 in front of 1233 Stones fans, 88 from Braintree just to boo at Hak, (official total 1872 with ST's counted), is far more likely, with the post match post mortem putting it down to the poor luvvies lack of match practise. I hope I'm wrong, though, and that the frustrated greyhounds race out of the blocks and are three up in ten minutes and its all over by half time!

Just seen the predicted weather forcast for this weekend so let,s hope it,s not yet another result affected by the weather. Still going for a scrappy 2-1 win with a slightly lower attendance than normal.

Still going for a scrappy 2-1 win with a slightly lower attendance than normal. Looks like we escape the serious weather during the game but Sunday is going to be horrific . They say it could be as bad as October 1987 but I have my doubts about that.
