Well we have seen that things have changed in the last 12 months and I think about 90% of us agree things are better than last year, but what do we truly want before the end of April/May. Personally I would like to see us finish 3rd or 4th,anything higher I think is beyond us . 3rd or 4th would give us a large home 1/4 final that would garner us a decent payday and an away semi against a good team, put up a good performance but fall just short and take a share of another good gate. If we are going to lose I would rather lose in the semi than the final because ,bugger and dammit ,if we reach the final I would want to win the fucker and I am not certain that is a good idea. I would like to win every Kent Derby left this season and have just one game where it all gels and we thoroughly tonk someone ,Tonbridge away would be nice for that one . If there are new investors interested in the club then we are unlikely to see or hear anything concrete until the close season. I hope Terry and Oliver remain involved at some level . Ground development will not happen any time soon but it would be nice if an official statement was released saying it was still on the agenda. Although I am very sceptical about HH I believe he will be here along with JS2 for the medium term and I hope he proves my doubts about him wrong. Finally I would like it to stop f**king raining for a while its getting me down

Pretty much agree with Sword but I’d add a little togetherness, fans and club, and fans and fans. A few proper atmospheres.
I’d probably give up the playoffs for that.

Based only on a couple of minor interactions, I think Hak is misunderstood and underrated. How about we get behind the bloke and all pull in the same direction.

Think performances will dictate that

I think we'll make the playoffs, and probably get through the first round (or whatever it's called).
Beyond that it's a bit of a lottery - plus the quandry of not actually wanting to win promotion! But the chance is there - probably Slough or H&W would be the favourites in the final, but so were Websfeet four years ago...
My expectations for this season were roughly where we are, so I'd be more than happy with that. Even just missng the playoffs wouldn't be so bad - that would still put us more or less on target.
However, in the longer term, the success of this season won't be judged on whether or not we ended up in the playoffs, it will be on what sort of a foundation has been built. Have we got a core squad/team, we can build on next season? Have we got the management team in place to take us further? Having consolidated and rebuilt, are we ready to take the next step and work towards a return to the NL?
None of us knows the answers to that, of course, but that's ultimately what matters, not where we finish in the table.

Are we supposed to throw games or something? Christ, it's a competitive game, if you're not in it to win you might as well not bother. You may not want promotion, that's your opinion, but I would rather we win every game, and if that results in us becoming a yoyo club, the so be it.

We do not have the answers but most of us have an opinion on the questions JDL asks. For me we do have the nucleus of a sqaud to challenge more robustly for promotion next season. I would like to see at least 10/11 of the existing squad retained. No need to name them as pretty obvious, but they have nearly all had goodish seasons. As for our management duo, for me I am happy enough, plenty of experience, know how and decency. We havn't finished this season and we have a serious chance of reaching the play-offs but 20/21 will be the time to really push on imo.

I do not "keep wittering on about not wanting to win promotion". My posts have only ever been about the conundrum of the catch-22 we find ourselves in of wanting to do well (which pretty much means making the playoffs) and the general assumption (on here and, seemingly, in the club) that we don't want/need promotion in the first season. So, indeed, what do we do - get to the final and then throw it?! I would love to see us get promoted, of course I would, I always want to see us win. I would also be worried about it being premature, of course, but I actually think we could handle it second time around. On the other hand, I'm OK with spending another season or two in the NS until we're really ready to go back up. Being interested in a situation and wanting to discuss it, doesn't mean taking one side or the other. Again, read my posts, don't just interpret them.

Based only on a couple of minor interactions, I think Hak is misunderstood and underrated. How about we get behind the bloke and all pull in the same direction. Agree. Even in my little circle of mates that support Maidstone, some have said Hak should go, after bad results. I always say, why Hak and not John, or both. They can’t answer but tk say that his interviews don’t inspire confidence. Funny.

What would i like to see happen over the next 4 months: Me to win the lottery People to stop outbidding me on eBay Maidstone games to be fun win/lose/draw Some harmony between the club, players and fans. George to smack a clearance from the half way line, that flies in the top corner for a 93rd minute winner to us.

Strange thing about the posts we get about wanting Hakan out. John Still on the other hand seems to be pretty free of criticism. Imo they are a duo who work well together and they succeeed as a team or fail as a team. The play-offs seem to be a decisive measure of success or not, it could all come down to fine margins. Personally I hope they prove their critics wrong.

Could the reason for Hak getting all the flack be because if we lose he is the one to face the camera but if we win they both share the glory. I may be wrong but just watch the post game interviews and judge for yourself.
