Shame football has to be played in conditions like last night. The team played pretty fair in truth and were favourites to win over 90 minutes on possession. Good effort and decent passing on show. Liked the performance of Amaluzor when he came on, please Hakan can we see more of him.

If the conditions are less like from the film “the day after tomorrow” and more dryer/less wind and the team play that way against St Albans there’s no reason why we can’t walk away with a valuable 3 points.
I imagine by default it will be the same team on Saturday, but I’d be inclined to drop Allen to the bench for Amaluzor who you noticed a lot more.

Looks more like a KSC 'crowd'!! Elvis quarter full, quite a few in the TE, massive gaps in the MS, few nutters getting soaked around the perimeter. Wind blowing the rain horizontally down the pitch. Glad I'm in row C and not out in this. Might be better if we hadn't got a 3G tonight... Working on the £10 a head basis, playing a match midweek in terrible weather costs the club £6,000 in lost income. Pointless result, really, too - didn't make any real difference, except lose us two points that might turn out to be critical (although I do realise it wasn't actually pointless, before Mr Pedant pops up!). HHT were a lot better than I expected and gave us a good game, but I reckon we'd have beaten them in better conditions. The effect of the conditions is reflected in the fact that both goals came from set pieces, despite almost constant goalmouth action.

Why no trust in olutade? What is the point bringing him back when you don’t play him plus bringing on Mcclure instead of him is a joke especially as they must have known that Mcclure was not going to stay. I thought much the same last night. I don't know if Akanbi was having a bad night or the conditions just didn't suit his style of playing, but it would have made a lot more sense to sub him with Olutade. A hungry player who's been scoring freely and is desperate to show what he can do, or a player whose mind is already on his next club? Still, at least we brought subs on early for a change!

Surprisingly good game, considering the conditions - possibly the worst wind/rain I've seen at JWW. Neutrals would probably consider 1-1 a fair result, and they could be right, HHT were much better than I expected. But, I think we'd have won in better conditions, in the 2nd half we did everything except score the winner. Bit disappointed in Akambi, but I'm not sure McClure did too much to convince mme that the sub was a good idea. Akambi is a goal poacher, McClure (at least at the moment) isn't. Amaluzor was on fire when he came on - so determined to score. At one point, he pushed Hoyte away so he could take the throw and then told Hoyte where to stand! Suspect ref, though. Long time since I've moaned about the ref, but he was very poor today. Several yellows for us from 50-50 situations (which were many because of the wind and rain), but I don't remember HHT getting any, despite industrial scale shirt pulling, etc. Plus Amaluzor got his yellow for what should have been a pen for us! And the ref missed another pen for a clear handball. Their free-kick was awarded for what? I didn't see anything worth a free-kick - and how many yards did he move the wall back?? It was a very nicely taken free-kick, but it shouldn't have been given. Looked a fairly blatant handball to me from behind that goal. To avoid the challenges he ended up leading with his arm more than his body.
Free kick was about a yard from the "D" so wall should have been a yard in front of the penalty spot. I thought the ref under paced it rather than too much.
How many people were in the bar? Unless there were several hundred in there for the match the official crowd of 1280 looked highly inaccurate to me.

Having watched the dreadful 0-0 vs Chippenham in December when conditions were pretty much the same, I didn't have great hopes for this but it was an entertaining game. We were much the better side and I thought several players looked better than in the last few games when a number seemed to have dropped off in terms of performance.

It's the old 'counting the STs' problem, as Porky points out. The actual crowd never looks remotely like the attendance given with these unpopular games. As for the 'pen', I'll probably be proved wrong with the video, but from our seats it looked like he was clearly controlling the ball with his hand. The wall probably was pretty much where it should have been, but I think refs usually pace it out less than it should be. For the one we had later in much the same position the wall was much closer.

In spirit or with spirits? Definitely in spirit, though I did have a large Laphroig whilst watching Spurs 3rd 11 beat Middlesbro reserves.
