If his departure freed up wages for a strong midfielder, I suppose we'd take that? That would make a more balanced squad.

We need a dominating CM but would miss his guile.
It depends on Corne and Khan. If they come back sooner rather than later, we may be better spending his wages on the DCM.
Having said that, he and Temelci are the main two players who actually play football the way it should be played. Passing, vision etc.

Im not saying we don't but (in my opinion) if we can gain control of games, we can take the pressure of the back 4 - so a DCM would be more important.

Would be a big loss in my view - our attack has a good balanced look about it when he's up there. His work rate and guile gives opposition defences plenty to think about. How we missed him against Tonbridge!

He is a class act, and we will miss him.

According to the article we have made him an offer so the Club want him to stay. I hope he does but he's probably done enough to get an offer from an NL club.

Although our form is still very erratic and I've seen very few games this season, my feeling lately is that things are starting to come together, and something like the team we were hoping to have by Christmas is finally shaping up. With Khan back in the side and no further injuries, I think we'd be a match for anyone.
So, whilst on paper McClure leaving wouldn't be a disaster, and the money saved could be used to shore up weaker areas, I fear it could have quite an impact on the side - especially on our confidence going forward and our goal scoring ability.
There's also the question of what it says about the club - that we can't hang on to good, ambitious players, or we're not the sort of club such players see as giving them the chances/exposure they need. That can't do much for the psychology of the team. We need players like Khan to want to stay at Maidstone until they need to move on because the club is seen as a good place to develop and a good springboard for a NL/EFL career, not a backwater where players with potential get overlooked and need to move on.

I think we need to keep hold of McClure at all costs. We have our better games when he’s in the side as he brings Ibby and others into the game.
Hoping we can jettison the deadwood in Edwards, Kamdjo and Pennel to free up the money we need.
I do feel if we let one of our top goal scorers leave down to money it says a lot. At the start of the season it was said if someone good came along wed find the money and I think this would be a decent example

It says to me that until we get some new money invested in the club we will for ever be an upper mid table NLS team.

Not sounding to good about McClure. Still some question marks about Saidou Khan too, although at least he's on contract.

Off to Dover.

He doesn’t score much in that league. I’d suggest he would enjoy playing and scoring at the level he has found himself at.
It’s his career and the wages would be better.
If there’s an offer to go to Dover, he may take it.
