Me neither, I live in Abingdon. Torquay website match report talking about them as "United" confused me for a sentence or two. OK, Abingdon Stone I'll have to confer with Herne Bay Stone before accepting such a name...

Have the FA changed the 'drinking in sight of the pitch rule' for the Trophy and Cup this season?

Have the FA changed the 'drinking in sight of the pitch rule' for the Trophy and Cup this season? I was wondering that myself on Saturday, maybe the club just genuinely forgot the ruling.

The alcohol restrictions don't apply to the preliminary and qualifying rounds of the FA Cup and not at all in the FA Trophy. I guess someone at the club simply forgot on Saturday.

As the game was between two non leagues sides then it was ok to have alcohol pitch side. Had we played a league side then it would not be allowed.

Have the FA changed the 'drinking in sight of the pitch rule' for the Trophy and Cup this season? Various attempts have been made to answer this but none, in my view, with absolute conviction.
A quick Google search and I found this from Worthing's website:
"The previous rules forbade any consumption of alcohol outside of the bar during FA Cup games, however this rule has now been relaxed. Alcohol may now be consumed from a plastic glass from anywhere in the ground.
Glasses, glass bottles and cans containing alcohol are still not permitted outside of the clubhouse and must not be brought into the ground."
I found nothing to suggest this "relaxation" was restricted to particular rounds.
