Yes! That's them! Travelled up to stevenage five years ago, wearing maidstone shirts they bought off of ebay, and claimed to have been there at" that game with the g**ls in 1989" Are they part of the hundreds that used to watch in the county league days? You and I both know they were there back in the county league and Kent league days. When we used to get 2-300 for home league games but nigh on 1000 turned up for the FA Cup game against Boreham Wood all claiming to have not missed a game since folding.

Indeed. Stevenage, Leyton Orient, Tonbridge and Cheltenham are some favourites we have faced before

I hadn't heard this. torquayfans.com/viewtopic.php?t=11172Now all ticket for away fans. Torquay fans not happy and I can't blame them. Can't imagine they'll sell out. £1.31 handling charge means they have to pay more than home fans who can turn up on the day, which I thought wasn't allowed. Some will be tempted to sit in the main stand for £18, rather than stand for £16.31.

They do have a very valid point as the decision to make it all ticket for away fans could have been made the day after the draw. I wonder how much influence the police have had in this decision. The comment about us being a tin pot club playing on astro turf gave me a small giggle, Torquay of course being the massive club that they are.

Presumably, there is nothing to stop any Torquay fan turning up without any club orientated clothing, pay their £15/12 and stand where they like? Back/middle of the Genco end, probably not a good idea, especially if Torquay score. Maybe the stewards are even now being trained in techniques to root out Devon accents and tendancies? Clotted cream on their chips and a penchant for pasties maybe???

This is almost certainly down to a request from the plod. Can't imagine why, it's not like we've ever had any trouble from Torquay fans.

If it's a police decision, I hope they will accept responsibility for any consequences. 99% of home fans will be fine with 99% of away fans in the home areas. As usual, it's the 1% you have to worry about. I hope this wasn't a club decision, as their judgment is usually better than this.
