I recall that season. Not good! I lived in Ramsgate during the week when at college there. Remember seeing the Stones at Margate in the Kent Floodlight Cup when we lost yet another game. Conceded 10 corners in succession. Often think about that season when people complain nowadays. Did the attendence numbers drop too?

Certainly the attendances were much less than a few seasons previously when 4-figure crowds were the norm.
I have just looked at some programmes from 1967/8. Times must have been hard as all I have from that seasoñ were the equivalent of 2 sides of A4 size paper for programmes - just typed; not printed. The programme cost for most Isthmian League games was 4d. Things must have worsened as on 12th May when we played Corinthian Casuals, the programme was just one side of paper for which we were charged 2d.

There was a general drop in attendances at all levels of football during this period 60s 70s even at successful clubs. It was only as Football became fashionable again that attendances rose. I don't think success had any bearing to play just the trend for watching live football

Some sources are list the torquay fixture as playing on Saturday 9th November, has this been actually officially confirmed yet?

Some sources are list the torquay fixture as playing on Saturday 9th November, has this been actually officially confirmed yet? For first round ties onward, the Saturday is always the provisional date until the TV companies decide what they're showing. Don't imagine our game is likely to attract much interest so the date probably isn't going to change.

Dulwich (Friday BBC2), Dover (Sunday BT) and Harrogate (Monday BT) are the three 'home' teams each getting the £75k 'broadcast fee'.

4-2 victory for Torquay at Halifax today. Even though Football Webpages had it as 4-2 to Halifax for most of the afternoon.

If today’s Stones show up next week it’ll be No contest, probably 0-4 to Torquay. If Hak and JS2 sort out whatever is rocking the boat then it could be a different story.
