With Oostersunde fc on the brink of financial collapse perhaps we can tempt Blair Turgott back for the rest of the season. Just read about that. Sounds very concerning. Hope Blair didn’t jump into a dodgy situation...

In fairness to Clovis, he was quite a regular player for St Albans in this League in Spring 2019, so should have been well used to the quality / pace / talent required. Seems an odd one to me that we look to rebuild almost the entire midfield half way into a season. It needs doing though. We're mid table in National South with a deliberately limited budget, who do we expect to sign to anchor the midfield, Franz Beckenbauer FFS ?

Dreams and reality on collision course again
Players like Blair are now way beyond our pay grade.
John and Hakan will just have to turn water into wine.
We do need to let players go to release the purse strings.

Nick if we do manage to release all 5 of the listed players what type of quality are we likely to attract, this time of the season most of the "talented" players are already tied down to a club. And can we afford the new players time to gel into the way we operate as a club an as a team.

We have the draw of being a biggish club and can pay well. I

They are too young. You never win anything with kids.

We do need to let players go to release the purse strings. Nick if we do manage to release all 5 of the listed players what type of quality are we likely to attract, this time of the season most of the "talented" players are already tied down to a club. And can we afford the new players time to gel into the way we operate as a club an as a team. I think that John and Hak are playing hardball with these five to get performances out of them - Iffy seemed to play to his best at Bath as a result....but sadly his best still doesn't seem good enough! It seems unlikely that better replacements for the five will be found at this stage of the season - maybe the odd one or two in dispute with their club or Manager or fed up at not getting regular football, but by definition, if that's where they are at, if they are NLS they may not be any better than these five, and if they are NL, the money becomes an issue - A real Catch 22. Also I think our attraction as a "big" club may be waning as we seem to be settling more into mid-table NLS mediocrity as the season goes on. My hopes of being play off contenders are on the ropes right now and taking some heavy punches unless John and Hak can get everyone playing with skill, conviction and quality again. We have shown it at times this season, but we have to show it more regularly, otherwise shiny new panic buttons may be under the Christmas tree for all of us if things haven't got better by the end of the year. I think we all need a good cup run and some better league performances to get our hopes up again...……….so a convincing thumping of Kings Langley and a well deserved quality win at Hampton are much needed. COYS!
