Bit if a downer today, as our Bath trip has had to be called of at the last minute, so I'm hoping for a really good game Saturday to make up for it. And a nice draw for the the 4Q! Are you telling us that 10 days in advance is "last minute"? In terms of me booking the hotel and a car, yes. Been looking forwards to this since the fixtures came out, so pretty pissed off. Only Dartford to 'look forward to' now...

Only Dartford to 'look forward to' now... At this rate you will be cancelling that game tomorrow. So many hotels an B&B in Bath it's Not difficult to book one the night before.

I didn't say we had a game mid week. I was trying to highlight the importance of consistency, Not sure why I bothered. I belive we had a behind closed doors friendly this week. Hakan mentioned it in his interview after the game Saturday. I thought I saw somewhere on Twitter that it was against Dover on Tuesday. Can anyone confirm?

As I’m in a flush of positivity to offset Nicks misery, I’ll up my bet to a 7-0 with another McClure hat-trick and the TV companies fighting over our next cup game.
In front of 3000.
COYS!

Looks like a pretty much full strength side out today, with a well stocked subs bench too. Whether the crowd make four figures or not is another matter. Can see about 30 Hitchin fans.

Seems like there were at least 300 in the bars until kick off, so now a decent crowd. Soft goal conceded, two quick replies, one of them as good an in play strike as seen here, but then went to sleep for the rest of the half. Hitchin decidedly poor, despite our efforts to make them look better...

Not a good performance over 90 minutes, probably the worst of the season at home. Excellent for 20 minutes after Hitchin got their fluke goal but what happened after that ? So flat, so poor, Hitchen must have come away feeling very disappointed. Terrific penalty save by Cole and 2 excellent goals by Chesmain and Akanbi. After that all very forgettable. No punch up front today and not good enough in midfield again.

An absolute dire second half performance today, making a poor Hitchin side look like a half decent Sunday league team. Who do I see to get my £5 50% refund?

Lucky, very lucky. The teabag had been used before, dried and had to go again. Hence nothing after 20 mins. They could, indeed should have scored three in the second half. Missed penalty (though great save), hit the post and then missed a sitter in the last minute. I think the players and maybe the management, were guilty of complacency as man for man, Stones were carrying about ten pounds of muscle over Hitchin. Yet after we nearly blew them away in the first quarter, they held their lines and stopped us knocking balls into space for the forwards to run on to. And they kept going to the end and suspect we expected them to run out of energy in the last quarter. The game was crying out for a bit of flair and pace, but when Amaluzor came on, he only had the ball about four times and lost it each one. Surely an ideal game to bring Embury on? But hey, we are in the next round, so who cares? Need to be much better at Bath though, methinks.
