Why is it that the moaners are so keen to post their negative stuff straight after a match. Same old faces. Be a nice change if they gave the rest of us a break. It's still very early days and the new look team is obviously work in progress. Slowly coming together, the team will continue to get better. Defence is already good, midfield and attack needs plenty of tuning and improvement. Keep the faith. How can any supporter describe the Stones as a nothing team ? If that's how you feel Nigel, you know what you can do. Why are you getting on Nigel's case? He has been a decent supporter for many years and is generally a decent poster. When he says we are a nothing side he means we ain't going up and we ain't going down.

Same old story, no striker. They are a team which seems not to concede many but also doesn’t score! Set up well and had a load of the ball but did nothing! Eastbourne were even worse even with some experienced players in their side they were happy to absorb and just hoof the ball out of play! Let’s not use injures as the excuse most of our strikers are useless anyway, Akanbi was lot better than the hapless Edwards but the guy doesn’t have the pedigree to find the net. Terry and Oliver need to come up with a sum for a goal scorer instead of wasting the supporters time and money. Not good enough....

It was strange. I came away wondering whether I should be happy we hadn't got beat or fuming that we hadn't put away a mediocre side. At present the team seems to have the fans with them but expectancy will get higher than this as the season goes on.

A few on here seem not prepared to wait for any improvement.

But we were promised instant success. Terry said we'd win every game. Oliver said we'd be top of the table by September. JS said the team would gel instantly. Hakan said every signing would be a success. Oh wait, no, they said the complete opposite. But I want everything now anyway, or I'm going to sulk.

Terry Casey did say he wanted football to be entertaining again after last season's dross, well the first half was so dull, so dismally dull,BORING and entertain value zero . The second half was an improvement but for the frequent bouts of head tennis. Our defence looked solid but from midfield upwards we look so weak especially without amaluzor.

With the time to gel things, how long do you wait? (Actual question) being as the starting team have now been together for 4 games if you include the final PSF. Personally I will be surprised if in a game or two we start seeing the goals flying in and the midfield having better shape, not because they’ve not gelled yet, but because maybe they aren’t good enough or at least the tactics aren’t. Probably a bit of both

Probably a bit of both I tend to agree. I didn't see anything last night that made me think 'this looks promising'. The number 7 (sorry haven't got names yet) seemed to improve as the game went on and looked lively. The lad that came on as sub (number 17) seemed to something in his locker. To me we look mid table. Add a scorer and we might trouble play offs. Confidence will be more important than usual because I just get the feeling that a few wins and we could see something more but a few defeats and we could be in trouble.

The problem with finding quality, creative midfielders and attackers is not new. We struggled last season as soon as we lost Turgott and the same applies to Piggott leaving too. We probably got lucky with both. Pigs had been in the doldrums, but starting again at the Gallagher revitalised his career. Blair had a court case hanging over him, but we took a risk and it paid off. However, for every success, there have probably been three or four failures. The solution can be money, but decent, ambitious players are not going to want to play in the NLS - at least for long. Hence the high turnover for most sides at this level. The owners are between a rock and a hard place in that they can just about afford to maintain our current status, but are being sensible in not wanting to risk any more without getting someone else to share the burden. Instead JS and HH are punting on young talent, which with a bit of experience, might just pay off. Amaluzor is key as he is our flair player, like Turgott last year. If Embrey comes back strongly, then together, the two of them are capable of causing the problems we were missing last night. Amaluzor has strength, pace and skill. Embrey certainly has pace, with the confidence to got at defenders. With both in the side, they will of course attract attention, but that then creates space for others to exploit. The likes of Corne, Kyei, Wishart, etc could well prosper then, instead of being stifled as last night. One surging run down the left wing, leading to a shot off the post, plus a lot of long throws, was all Eastbourne had to offer, so with hindsight, 0-0 was very much on the cards from the start. If only we could have sneaked a goal in the first ten minutes... So, how long do we wait? Until our two flair players are back is one answer. We don't look like we are going to concede many goals, so that is already a huge improvement on last season. Another chance v Slough on Saturday, so let's hope that is the game where home fans at last go home happy. It's been a while...

Think people need a reality check, we got lucky a few seasons back and went straight up, would we be happy to be in this division, yes I would have thought so. Instead we got spoilt now it's a low and people can't seem to take it. You've only got to look at teams like York, taken them a few season to get there act together. Clearly the funding isn't there or we wouldn't be shopping in the lower leagues, let's just all try and support what we have coys

Two evenly matched sides and it could easily have gone 1-0 either way. After 4 games the team is still a work in progress so let's look at the positives. First clean sheet of the season. Very strong back 5. Yes, scoring is a problem but let's wait until Embery & Amaluzor are fit before making any judgements.

How long do we wait for performances to improve ? "As long as it takes" Right from the beginning Stones management asked for some patience from supporters, citing the nember of new and youngish players, needing time to improve and gell. I guess there's no chance of the forum moaners giving the team or anybody else the break we deserve.

I was thinking of asking hammerstone why he follows us rather the team his username suggests, then I realised it's because they're dogshit.

I think you’ve overlooked what I said in brackets rather than someone smudging the rose tinted glasses! Sadly I must of been someone terrible in a past life to inflict both watching West Ham and Maidstone... I’d like you to point out where I or others have demanded instant success. In my post I actually highlighted the defence as a positive, so an improvement and it was duly mentioned. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility to want to see an oppo goalkeeper make a save.

We had a lot of success in playing 442 when we moved to the Gallagher but since we have got 433 or 4231 we have been awful. Does someone know the win percentage since changing to this formation as Jay changed it for some reason when 442 was working. We will create more chances with 2 strikers in the box. Last night was so boring to watch. Both teams were awful.
