Thanks Dave, I tried to set up a link on my original post but failed. Can anyone manage to set up a link to the whole blog as there is much missing? There is, as I mentioned and you have commented on in a previous post some very welcome comments from Oliver on this blog. I was hoping when creating the thread more might comment on the positives. One key to having a good season could be the fans trying to create a positive vibe around the club. Not always easier said than done (esp last season) I know but we can try.

I don't really care what Ash and Casey say anymore, it's best they didn't bother trying a be 'transparent' with the supporters as it gets the armchair economics/financial experts on here throffing at the mouth. Plus it's a fact both of them keep backing and swerving every time they write an 'intuitive' blog anyway...

If you click on the link it opens in twitter and you should be able to scroll through the individual pages. That's how I read it, although I'm not sure whether that would work if you don't have a twitter account. He seems to have posted it as a series of images in his original tweet.

Thanks Dave. Very honest and clear statement from Oliver, and pretty much in line with what most of us thought. NL was a step too far, too soon, and we paid a heavy price. Now we have to get back to basics, rebuild and reastablish ourselves, with a more realistic view of the club and it's prospects. And get back to enjoying our football! Step too far, too soon?. Utter bollocks. What’s the point of competing if you don’t want to get promoted. Getting back to enjoying the football? We had a shit team. That’s why we weren’t enjoying it because no one gave a f**k.

Some people clearly still haven't read the part where Oliver says we would be delighted to be back in the NL next year and would be hoping to do better having learnt from last year's experience. Can't believe some people are happy to settle for mid-table when even the owners are targeting the play-offs and would be very happy to be promoted.

Daveu I know for a fact that one of the owners does not want promotion next year, he wants at least 2-3 seasons in this league to build up his clubs bank balance. The biggest problem at the club is when both the owners say different things and it makes them both look stupid.

I doubt that's "the biggest problem" at the club.

He clearly stated that they would be delighted to be back in the NL next year, and I think I'd take what's written down in black and white for all to see over an off the cuff remark.

They just had a bit of luck in choosing Jay as manager, and rode that luck all the way to the NL. Too far, too soon.

In reality Dave no owner is going to publicly declare that they have no desire for there club to win promotions each season because they know what the impact would be for the club financially, they need the fans to buy in to the club season after season despite what happens on the pitch, hence why we now get a monthly little snippet from someone at the club just to keep us all involved. I stand by what TC said to me and would challenge him in public if he denied it. Sadly fans have greater ambitions for the club which is easy when there money is not at risk, I am not slatting either of the owners they have done miracles for this club but now they have reached a stage where they cannot go forward on there own they need other investors to come along for the next stage of development and that is where the danger lies for the club.

I remember getting promoted to the National league and finishing in our highest position with a squad much weaker on paper than that of the squad we went down with last year!!
Going back up would be fantastic and can we all imagine doing it at The clowns expense in another play off final!! Full time, part time and a Big budget mean f**k all come match day! We need to find that magical balance and there is no reason to think it will not happen with this squad at some point!
Would I swap Worgan for Cole ❌ Would I swap Parry for Elokobi ❌ Would I swap Rogers for Corne ❌ Would I swap Flisher for Amaluzor ❌ Would I swap May for Embury ❌
All the squad we won the play off final with last time around as individuals are not as strong as what we have now in my opinion!
I could go on, but I’ve made my point. One thing I’m 100% certain of is that John Still is more qualified than every single person on this forum at building and running a team! COYS

COYS For me Cole and Worgs are equal, agree on Elokobi, Rogers over Corne(so far) for me and Glush at his best and Justin equal and we’ve not seen Embury properly yet but I can see where you are going with this and yes we do have some quality players this year. However you don’t mention the quality players we don’t have this time, like Billy Joe Taylor. All in all though, promising team for this year COYS!
