If they were so desperate to get out, they would have taken the current deal. They knew what they were doing when they took over and built the ground - they knew they were in for the long-run, and that there might be hard times (remember, we were in the IS, with gates of around 1,000 then). They did what they did because they wanted to bring the club home and give it a secure future. After ten years, they're not going to just chuck all that away. Terry may be looking forward to retirement, and Oliver may be fed up after this season (who wouldn't be), but they're not going to be paying any attention at all to a bunch of morons on FB. And nor should we. What were the details of the current deal? Did it get released? No idea. I doubt if we'll ever find out. But something about it put them off. My guess is that he was going to borrow against the club to fund his takeover. But it doesn't really mater - whatever it was, it was enough to stop O&T going ahead. They wouldn't be so 'picky' if they really wanted just to get out. Thank God.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CoXfinzIfuc Looks like Dover have a documentary coming out about them in the next few days about their calamitous season in the National League (something we know all too well about). If you've never seen any of their stuff, Copa90 docs are well worth a watch - the one about the Superclasico in Argentina is unreal!

Bath City have put in a planning application for 3G citing fewer postponements, much more useage of the pitch and facilities, not to mention enhanced revenue.

The only real problem with 3G is that you tend to end up with teams around you all having significant numbers of games in hand. This seems to happen to us every season.
I know GiH still have to won, but I think the psychological effect of not quite knowing how well you're doing can be quite significant once the number of games played gets seriously out of kilter - especially in situations where only a few points can make the difference between winning the league, or going down.

When you are bottom of the league and everyone has games in hand then you can cut through the psychobubble by just saying we're shit and we know we are.

That’s an interesting point and one I’d never considered. Some may see it as an advantage as it avoids fixture congestion for yourself.

Some familiar names in the NLS relegation zone. With Weston-Super-Mare, Enfield, Bishops Stortford and Enfield looking good for promotion.

If their style of play is still the same as last season, Hungerford will be no loss to the NLS.

Glad someone reads my posts.
Truro City.
Looks like they’re groundsharing with Plymouth Parkway due to the failure of the Stadium for Cornwall project.

Funny to look back at who our championship rivals were over the years - even excluding the wilderness years. A few have gone on to greater things (eg Sutton), but most have faded away or even gone bust. And yet, at the time, they were the team to beat - the ones we worried about for half the season.

Dulwich lost again last night - 6 points from a possible 30 over their last 10 games and only 6 points above the relegation zone with many teams below them having games in hand.
Genuine question: why are they such consistent under-performers? With their sizeable crowds, decent facilities, catchment area, media profile (incl. a recent BBC documentary), etc surely they should be National League mainstays or at least pushing on for play offs each year?
What am I missing? They, from the outside, seem to be a well run club but everything points to them getting things wrong almost year on year. They were, for my money, the worst side to visit the Gallagher last season by some distance.
