One look at Instagram and Twitter shows you a lot of players are on holiday at the moment. It seems a bit early for this amount of panic to set in so long before the season starts. This is the off season, and players probably have switched themselves off for a few weeks from the constant training / travel / game commitments, which makes total sense. Some players sign early and get it out the way, some take a little longer and sign on midway through the summer and then others will leave it to the final few weeks. It's not surprising, really. m Switch yourself off for a few WEEKS? When you should be looking for a new job? Which is your only income? In which you only work three or four days tops? Never thought I’d see the day that non league players - in tier six at that - so pampered and removed from the real world of work! No wonder last years lot looked so Passionless! Just hope JS2 and Hak have got it right with this lot-I’m sure they have. I do wonder what though what the poor mites will do when they have to retire from football and get real jobs! They will probably join a non league forum and post incessantly

The forum always gets like this in summer. Then it changes when the season starts and results are not perfect. People like to moan; particularly old people. What do you classify as old? Does 61 count. Living in Allington helps. As does moaning about parking.

Two quality midfielders, an experienced striker and that’s one e bitingly strong squad. Very encouraging.

Two quality midfielders, an experienced striker and that’s one e bitingly strong squad. Very encouraging. Bitingly good ! Hmmm! Not as confident as you Oldboy . I will reserve judgement for the coming months. Neither you or I have seen 90% of this team actually play a game and 75 % of them I have never heard of until now and 2 dead cats doing the dead cat bounce. I read what you all say but it's all pure speculation and I don't like to take other people's word for things especially the word of people I don't know. It's no good Fred Bloggs from Wolves saying what a great player Elokubi or whatever was a legend I want to see for myself why this legend ended up at step6 and it's the same with Hoyte I don't want to know how good he was I want to know why he was at step 6 or 7 what went wrong for him to fall so far and is he gonna be good for us now . As I said I will reserve judgement so how can you call it a Bitingly good squad when you just dont know?

So now we have 11 and as you suggest sword many players unknown to Stones supporters. Some will disappoint as 100% success doesn't happen in reality, so quite a few more signings needed yet. Still a pretty decent squad has taken shape and should give the supporters hope. HH has a big job in getting strangers to blend, work together and achieve a strong team ethic. Those quality midfielders we still need, if only.

These full time professionals just need to be one percent better than the opposition in this mostly part-time league. I predict an exciting season ahead.

Sword is correct in as much as we all know very little about these guys who will be playing for us next season, but I will stick my neck on the block by saying I,m 100% certain that JS an HH will turn them into hungrier keener players than we had all of last season. And I for one will be happy with a team that tries 100% so let,s wait an see how things pan out, maybe one or two will turn out to be useless but on the other hand they may all turn out to be heros. Time will tell people.

Let's all pray for the hero's scenario as we deserve it after last year.

After last seasons mess and using around 60 players, I am hoping for a squad of around 18 players that start the season. Don’t think there is any need for many more than that. We have 11 signed up now so only another 7 needed before training starts. Get them all signed up before first pre season game so they have time to gel before the season starts. Some of last seasons squad haven’t signed for anyone yet so we may yet keep some of them?

Please let me play for you. I know I was crap last season and didn't care. And I know I couldn't wait to get away. But no one's interested in me and I'm getting desperate. PLEASE let me play for you - even someone as useless as me had got to be good at this level. Pretty please?
What could possibly go wrong?
