I know what you are saying sham, but realistically if we are going to make a serious attempt to bounce back to NL at first time of asking (which we are), we will also need experience and quality too, which makes the Dover options of Diarra, Sho and Nortei interesting. We cant expect a team of Jake E's to sail back into NL - as you say yourself, that takes time - but we are going for it next year! I'd rather do it Sham's way - a few seasons in the NS, building a team that will stay together and play together in the NL. Go straight back up with a bunch of NL mercenaries, too good for the NS, and we'll come straight back down again. All the pain of this season will have been wasted, if we learn nothing from it. You can't build a team in the National South and hope it will stay together for 2-3 seasons for when we get back into the National League. Anyone who looked decent after the first season would be snapped up by another team. This is non league, most teams make massive changes each summer.

What your doing is building a club. Creating a team that is versatile. Can slot into different positions. If their decent you get a bit of money and replace like for like. Keeping the whole thing going. Not just plucking up anybody for a month here and a couple of weeks there. We want a team, not 11 individuals. Players like Embery. Switched on. Young lads with no fear. A team we can call ours.

All this get younger hungry players who can stay with us sounds great but is utter nonsense for the reasons you have stated.

Flish has just announced he is leaving Margate Oh dear you have to worry how the pubs will now survive without him. I know I'm going to open myself up here, but Flish is a club legend from happier times and so I'm going to spare him the pubs and takeaways jibes.
I actually would have Flish back now to both bring some heart and cheer back to the club - even if it is looking back at better times (which isn't always a bad thing, in moderation - that's why we all do it! - and to let leash his long throw in NLS - maybe as a supersub when we are desperate to score - to both race in on goal and also turn every throw over the half way line into the equivalent of a Corner or a cross into the box to create havoc.
However, Flish left us to stay PT and we are FT, and I suspect he and Stu Lewis may know what job Jay has been offered or has his eye on to join him there.
Also, wasn't Flish's leaving a bit acrimonious between our owners and the Flisher family because they wouldn't offer him a good enough deal for FT?

Corners and crosses didn't do much to cause havoc in the opposition box this season, although havoc a-plenty in our own.

If we can't get Flish himself as a FT player next year cant we at least pay him to train someone - maybe two or three of them - in the squad next year to be able to throw like him?

Flish spent most of last season injured - I don't know what his physical state is now, to be honest. I'm sure we'd all welcome him back with open arms if he is fit and firing on all cylinders, but that would have to be checked very carefully first. I am not sure about the 'acrimony' bit, I was led to believe it simply didn't make any sense for him to give up a good full-time job to go three-quarters full time with us. Unless something drastic has happened to change that, he won't re-join as we're not changing back to part-time, so that's that, surely.

Jayser, you can talk about checking out Flish's fitness very carefully, but I think we all know the sad reality.
